Saturday my mom heard her cat making odd noises at the screen door and looked outside to see this visitor! They have a fenced in yard so somehow Mr. Peacock flew in and was strutting around. They live in a more rural Chicago suburb - where did he come from? The zoo is far enough away that it shouldn't be one of the zoo's animals!
Animal Control wanted $130 for them to come capture it so Mom called the police and then shooed it out of the yard by waving a broom in it's direction. Last she saw it, it was going down the street being slowly followed by a cop car who was calling some of the local farms to see if anyone is missing a bird ;)
