I met her two years ago after she had just been diagnosed with Parkinson's. We embraced each other without words and since that moment we've been friends.
I like many before me introduced her to birds - for me birds are medicine for my soul as is for Kristen. She lives on a good parcel of land with a pond and meadows. I've never seen so many birds and now she sees them too. She is a blessing and so is this darling Downy.

Au centre de certaines parcelle de rizières, on aperçoit des cercles dans la rizière. Ce sont des bassins qui resteront en eau tout le temps, même quand on n' irriguera plus la parcelle..En effet , pour manger les larves d'insectes(moustiques entre autres) on élève des poissons..Quand la parcelle est remplie d'eau ,ils utilisent toute la surface ...et se réfugient ensuite dans les bassins circulaires.....Pour des raisons presque semblables, il y a aussi des élevages de canards qui débarrasseront les rizières des limaces ou escargots et autres larves.. Leurs déjections apportent un engrais naturel à la culture...

In the centre of some rice fields, you can see circles in the rice field. These are basins that will remain in water all the time, even when the plot is no longer irrigated... In fact, to eat the insect larvae (mosquitoes among others), fish are bred... When the plot is filled with water, they use the entire surface... and then take refuge in the circular basins... For almost similar reasons, there are also duck farms that rid the rice fields of slugs or snails and other larvae... Their droppings provide a natural fertiliser for the crop...

Viewed from the footbridge at Mount Pleasant level crossing, tidy looking 33117 passes Southampton Bevois Park sidings with a parcels train in the summer of 1983.
Thanks to [https://www.flickr.com/photos/johndedman] for identifying the train, this is likely to be 3o21, the 2108 Preston to Southampton Western Docks.
Prominent are the cement hoppers belonging to Rugby cement which, at the time, were filled by a daily train from Halling in Kent. Also visible are several ERF (Foden) cement tankers which would have been used to distribute the cement locally.
Bevois Park sidings were disused for many years but returned to use as an aggregate terminal in December 2015. In 2023 the terminal is served several times a week with stone from Whatley Quarry in Somerset.

A short trip to Vancouver and a few treasures are nabbed in broad daylight. This of course brings up the question of light it self. Is there good and bad light for photography? Instead, I would contend that if you think you are shooting in bad light, then perhaps you are shooting the wrong thing.
This landscape shot would not illicit the strong shadows and differing colors given those parcelled at sunset. Rather, choose your subject given the lighting conditions and find the gems that exist all around us.
The van closest is from the local sorting office delivering letters and small parcels, the one in front delivers larger parcels from a different location.
