For 14 days, Paramahamsa Vishwananda led 70 of His Shree Peetha Nilaya residents on a pilgrimage through South India. The group travelled to nine cities to explore the roots of our Sri Sampradaya and some of the history of Lord Rama on His trek to rescue His beloved Sita. The group enjoyed more than 30 temples, many of which are Divya Desams: the 108 Vishnu temples that are mentioned in the poetic works of the Tamil Alvars (saints).
As always, traveling with the Master includes delights and surprises along the way. This time, the group was blessed to encounter three saints and enjoy the hospitality of several other gurus and acharyas. A highlight of the trip was a ritual bath in Adhi Setu (the ocean near Rameswara) and the blessing of being bathed by the sacred waters of 22 sacred tirthams (ponds) to absolve all sins. The group also enjoyed a swim in the sea where Lord Rama’s monkey army built the floating bridge to Lanka.

Paramahamsa Vishwananda’s 42nd Appearance Day marked a more quiet but heartfelt celebration at Shree Peetha Nilaya. (With the travel restrictions lessening, more guests could come but still many regulations had to be followed.)
The morning celebrations included a guru paduka-puja where Guruji’s Feet were covered in flowers, followed by an abhishekam on His personal murtis. After that, He gave a satsang about the real meaning of a birthday in the human experience. The afternoon event consisted of a powerful 108 Yagna ceremony dedicated to our beloved Gurudev, performed by The Ashram Residents and guests.
In the evening, a picnic on the back lawn briefly sprinkled everyone with the rain's blessings, but passed on so that everyone could have dinner, cake, and a watch a special Resident video made just for His birthday, as well as a video featuring 'The Little Devotee' cartoon set to music.
Gurudev said He was glad everyone could come and, building on His satsang of the morning, wished us all a Happy Birthday as well.

Mahavatar Babaji is the Guru of Paramahamsa Vishwananda, and the father of all Kriya Yoga lineages. Babaji Day recognises the immortal yogi who, 5000 years ago, pledged to stay on the planet and guide all those on the spiritual path until they reached the ultimate goal of God-Realisation.
Like every year, The Ashram was packed with devotees from all over the world. As is traditional these days, Atma Kriya Yoga Level 2 was given by Guruji for those who had been regularly practising Level 1, but in a surprise announcement, Guruji offered for the first time to give AKY Level 3 to those who had been practicing Level 2 for 5 years without missing more than one day in each of those years! it was a historic way to recognise the gifts of this lineage and the mystical Jagadguru of the Himalayas who continues to watch over all AKY yogis to this day.

We celebrated the birth of Christ with Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda in His international ashram, Shree Peetha Nilaya. We had a long and beautiful liturgy for Christmas Eve, describing and honouring the miracle of Jesus' birth and then we sang and danced until long after midnight. The next morning Guruji led a sweet Abhishekam with baby Jesus and the devotee children.
During His satsang afterwards, Guruji said that Jesus came to Earth to help humanity move away from the fear of God and to realise the Love of God. He reminded us that we must focus on transforming ourselves to find God's presence within ourselves first, and then we will be able to see God in others. After the satsang, the children sang holiday songs in English, French and German, and finally, a play depicted the life of Saint Seraphim of Sarov.
After that, everyone gathered for the traditional Bhakti Marga Christmas family meal. The residents served the guests while speakers told stories and Guruji enjoyed throwing out candies and cake pops to everyone.

This year’s annual 24-hour Gayatri Yagna, conducted by Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda at Shree Peetha Nilaya, was eagerly awaited by many, and guests began to arrive days ahead of time to enjoy the Darshan event that preceded it. The morning began at 6 am with Guru Puja, followed by the yagna and mantra chanting in the Tent that would last the entire 24 hours.
As always, the mantra was chanted in the tent during the entire day and throughout the night until the next morning, while devotional songs gave variety to the tune. Each participant was given ample opportunities over the 24 hours to make offerings to Gayatri Devi at the yagna kund.
Paramahamsa Vishwananda has said that the Gayatri contains millions of mantras, and our focus while chanting it should be on Sriman Narayana, the Supreme Lord, the Ultimate Source of all. Most basic amongst its many meanings, it helps protect one from illness and accident, but it is much much more than that, as it spreads its influence throughout the world by becoming resident within our hearts.
Guruji has said that it means: We meditate on the radiance of the Supreme Being, our Creator and Protector and Source of Joy. May the Light of His Face inspire and guide our minds and open our hearts to Him and, by His Grace, let that Light radiate through us to others.
Concluding the yagna, Guruji encouraged everyone to join in a meditation to Mother Earth. Especially in this time when mankind's greed is so high and when the fires in the Amazon are still burning, He encouraged offering to Her all the mantras chanted during this yagna and all our prayers.

The 2020 Holi Adventure with Paramahamsa Vishwananda was infused with devotion as it took place in Vrindavan, India, and the ashram of the Shree Giridhar Dham. Fortunately, it was held just before the onset of big changes in the world due to the Coronavirus, so a large number of devotees from all over the world were able to experience the joyous festival of colours known as ‘Holi’ and visit many of the sacred sites where Lord Krishna’s lilas took place.
During this time, new deities were installed at the ashram, too: Panduranga, Rukmini, and a unique Hanuman/Garuda.
A truly memorable trip for everyone in so many ways!
