South Australia not only has great weather, beautiful beaches and a hassle-free environment - it also has a huge acreage of very high quality vineyards.
Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Clare Valley, Langhorne Creek and the Adelaide Hills are just some of the state's wine regions. While a lot is exported overseas, there are also numerous small and boutique winemakers who only sell locally. These wine regions are also very scenic - particularly in spring and autumn with great local restaurants and cafes. Wine tasting around a number of these producers every now and again is a lasting pleasure - the staff at the cellar door are generally very welcoming and the tasting, in all but a few, is free!
Maybe that's why I live here and not Scotland?

This is a pond near Terrebonne in Central Oregon.
I had photographed Smith Rock from the side of the road and as I got back to the PPV I couldn't help but notice how reflective this pond was. I had to walk over and snap a shot or two of it.
The Milky Way was just starting to move up into the sky.
This wooden bench reaching towards the light is at the upper level of the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinberg, Ontario, one of the best art collections in the neighbourhood of Toronto. Its grounds are also beautiful, particularly in autumn when the leaves turn colour.
In almost all of my photo columns that I write for the National Parks Traveler, I mention, at some point, of really observing your surroundings. I tell my readers to look around them to see if they can find patterns or textures that call out to them for a photo. If it catches their eye, then it's worth at least a single image.
While I was driving the dirt & gravel Howland Hill Road on the way to the Stout Grove parking lot in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, I stopped to photograph one thing, then turned around to see this scene of straight (or almost straight) young tree trunks creating parallel lines in my composition.

Da tempo il Rigi era una meta che volevo esplorare ma ogni volta non si presentava la giusta occasione, ed ecco che dopo un susseguirsi di giornate poco belle accompagnate da diversi rovesci nevosi, si presentano a catena diversi giorni soleggiati perfetti per recarsi qui e sfruttare la neve fresca che in fretta si scioglie.
Infatti dopo nemmeno 1 giorno gli alberi mi si presentano quasi del tutto verdi, se non per il lato opposto a quello maggiormente colpito dal sole, ma questo non mi scoraggia troppo e attendo quindi l'arrivo di diversi veicoli ancora di vecchia data rispetto alla quasi totale circolazione della flotta moderna sulla linea per Vitznau.
Da lì infatti è possibile godere di qualche rinforzo effettuato ancora dal vecchio materiale rotabile, ma solamente quando è bel tempo e l'affluenza lo necessita.
Tutte le foto che ho pubblicato in questo punto fotografico che coinvolgono 2 treni, sono state create tramite l'ausilio di Photoshop, in quanto nonostante l'orario di partenza e di arrivo in vetta sia il medesimo per ambe 2 le direzioni, è difficile ma non impossibile che i treni circolino parallelamente.

Die Rigi war schon lange ein Ziel, das ich erkunden wollte, aber jedes Mal bot sich nicht die richtige Gelegenheit. Nach einer Reihe von nicht sehr guten Tagen, die von mehreren Schneeschauern begleitet waren, gab es nun mehrere sonnige Tage hintereinander, die sich perfekt dafür eigneten, hierher zu reisen und den frischen Schnee zu nutzen, der schnell schmilzt.
Tatsächlich präsentieren sich mir die Bäume nach nicht einmal einem Tag fast vollständig grün, abgesehen von der Seite, die am meisten von der Sonne getroffen wird, aber das entmutigt mich nicht allzu sehr und so warte ich auf die Ankunft einiger Fahrzeuge, die im Vergleich zum fast vollständigen Umlauf der modernen Flotte auf der Strecke nach Vitznau noch alt sind.
Von dort aus ist es in der Tat möglich, einige Verstärkungen zu genießen, die noch von den alten Fahrzeugen gemacht werden, aber nur wenn das Wetter gut ist und die Weiche es erfordert.
Alle Fotos, die ich hier mit 2 Zügen veröffentlicht habe, sind mit Hilfe von Photoshop entstanden, denn obwohl die Abfahrts- und Ankunftszeiten am Gipfel für beide Richtungen gleich sind, ist es schwierig, aber nicht unmöglich, die Züge parallel fahren zu lassen.

Lake Nicasio, Ca.
I was debating whether to go grab a sunset shot yesterday, since it was so gray out, i decided to just go for it. Very glad i did, the color only lasted 5 min. what a show. This lake is about 20 min away, convenient.
