This type of climbing shrub usually grows in bushes. But I happened to come across this one – with single branch had blooms. There were no other branches around it.

Wasn't feeling too inspired for photography today, so here's a flat lay of stuff I had close by.

I probably should have grabbed my flash instead of bumping up the ISO, but hey, who doesn't love a bit of grain?

Paperflower is the most common species of bougainvillea. The biological name 'glabra' comes from Latin and means "bald". It is an evergreen, climbing shrub with thick, thorny stems and drooping branches that are glabrous or sparsely hairy. Tiny yellowish-white flowers usually appear in clusters surrounded by colorful papery bracts, hence the name "Paperflower."

One of the most elegant bougainvilleas, featuring clusters of clear white flower-like bracts against pleasing green and white variegated foliage. The strong vine-like habit provides quick cover and a beautiful show throughout the warm season. Evergreen in frost-free areas.

This is a strange plant! The Flowers feel like paper! I believe it's also called an Everlasting Plant!

Paul and Linda McCartney wrote "Silly Love Songs" as a rebuttal to music critics, and to John Lennon, who accused Paul of writing lightweight love songs. But here's a question: is a song that expresses love really ever 'just' silly?

So, yes, I like pretty images [eye candy? :-)]. Maybe this one, of a paper flower, is the visual equivalent of a silly love song. I'm with you, Paul. :-)

hippy hop and you don't stop except to take a nap.

Another Monday, another still life / flat lay. Not too much to say about this one, I just felt like I needed some pops of yellow in my photo today so I built this scene around the napkins.

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

Thank you very much for your views, faves and comments!

I really appreciate it !

For this weeks challenge (Macro Mondays "paper") I went with simplicity using B/W paper to make a flower. I then shot it using B/W setting on a white background.

If you fav this photo please leave a comment as to why you like it, thanks in advance.

Bougainvillea is sometimes called "paper flower" because its bracts are thin and papery.
