Laowa 2X Super Macro
These are 3" x 3" Post-It Notes that have been rolled in half and held together with a paper clip. The light source is a large window at the top left. The 3 main circle-top areas are less than 1.5" total width, so the estimated total width is less than 2.5" W. It's fun to turn the paper and adjust the camera to see numerous views of the same subject. Plus, the super macro lens allows me to get very close to the subject, and the depth-of-field is extremely shallow. This lens blurs the background at f/8.0 or less, but unfortunately doesn't record the depth-of-field in the EXIF data. I'm guessing this is f/4.0 or lower. I'm a rookie with this lens and have plenty to learn. But, I like that it allows me to think "outside the box". In other words, it's fun.
Please have a great day.....
The rolled paper is shot from above - it is on a tray table with a translucent top - the flash is below the table.

Playing with coloured paper and scissors to try to create some paper art.
The cuttings are 4cm at their widest and so should fit within the groups requirements.

Remember the way you made me feel
Such young love but
Something in me knew that it was real
Frozen in my head
Pictures I'm living through for now
Trying to remember all the good times
Our life was cutting through so loud
Memories are playing in my dull mind
I hate this part paper hearts
And I'll hold a piece of yours
Don't think I would just forget about it
Hoping that you won't forget about it
Everything is gray under these skies
Wet mascara
Hiding every cloud under a smile
When there's cameras
And I just can't reach out to tell you
That I always wonder what you're up to
Pictures I'm living through for now
Trying to remember all the good times
Our life was cutting through so loud
Memories are playing in my dull mind
I hate this part paper hearts
And I'll hold a piece of yours
Don't think I would just forget about it
Hoping that you won't forget
I live through pictures as if I was right there by your side
But you'll be good without me and if I could just give it some time
I'll be alright
Goodbye love you flew right by love
Pictures I'm living through for now
Trying to remember all the good times
Our life was cutting through so loud
Memories are playing in my dull mind
I hate this part paper hearts
And I'll hold a piece of yours
Don't think I would just forget about it
Hoping that you won't forget

Macro Mondays: #Paper
Thank you very much for your visit and for taking the time to comment! Much appreciated!
Paper wasps (Polistes sp.) get their common name from the paper-like material out of which they make their nests. Paper wasps are sometimes called umbrella wasps, after the shape of their distinctive nests.

Happy Macro Monday!
Paper.
I only looked at the theme for Macro Mondays this morning not really intending to do anything. But the theme is Pastel and that lends itself to all sorts of ideas.
Flowers first came to mind… and I love photographing those as you probably have realised. But then I guessed there’d be a lot of lovely ones in the group today so I tried to think of something different.
I narrowly saved you from a close-up of a peach flannel :)
This is a shot of three pieces of cream laid paper folded back on themselves. I’ve never done any of this type but I have liked a lot I have seen on Flickr. I love the gentle tone poems you get - all shape and soft colour gradients… bliss.
Anyway this is my first attempt at the genre. Half the work was done in the setup - sunlight, two lamps and a torch all played their part. But, as encouraged by the theme description, a considerable part of the performance was done in the processing, tweaking all sorts to get a soft-coloured high-key result without blowing the highlights. I used curves to get it looking right.
The whole image is cropped to less than three inches (the whole teardrop shape if you could see it was about that), so we are within the guidelines.
I enjoyed this more than I expected. It was fun. So I might try it again :)
Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the tone poem. Happy Macro Mondays!
Taken in an area of the forest where all the trees are blackened and charred, i think there must have been a fire there at some stage. it's pretty cool
