On a street busy with bikers, cars and walkers, this barn owl has found a home in one of the palm trees.

The only light available was from a streetlight.

A rarity in the Bay area though this one has been hanging out here in the winters

According to one of the birders (Eric), this is a first-winter male in pre-alternate molt showing both the yellow-green young plumage and the red adult plumage.
