People with a local knowledge say they haven't seen those hills so green in many years. And these pinky flowers, too. A truly rare show.
I was said Bob Hope used to live in a house with a flat-domed roof on top of the residential area on the slopes.

The cholla (pronounced choy-a) is perhaps the most feared and hated cacti in the southwest desert. If you brush up against one, you will know why.
The plant has pads that separate easily from the main stem. The spines easily attach to your clothing, your skin, your shoes. Since the plant is covered with spines, it's difficult to grab and dislodge the pad that has found a new home with you.

Sculpture Bob Miner used a full size 1970 Volkswagen bug as the body of this creation. Marilyn immediately jumped into my head when I read today's challenge, but I pictured her with sunny weather behind her. At least a pigeon showed up for the shot!
It rained all day today and the high temperature was in the low 50s. From what I understand we have almost filled our aquifers!
