Thraupis palmarum (Palm Tanager / Tángara palmera)

The Palm Tanager is one of the most widespread and familiar birds of the neotropics, from Nicaragua south to southern Brazil. They are common at forest borders, but also occur in the canopy of the interior of forest. As the name suggests, Palm Tanagers often are associated with palm trees, but by no means are they restricted to living in palms.

Sago palm tree with four lovely birds on leaves!

Sago palm, is a species of gymnosperm in the family Cycadaceae, native to southern Japan including the Ryukyu Islands. It is one of several species used for the production of sago, as well as an ornamental plant. The sago cycad can be distinguished by a thick coat of fibers on its trunk. The sago cycad is sometimes mistakenly thought to be a palm, although the only similarity between the two is that they look similar and both produce seeds. The leaves grow from the trunk and start out as small leaves near the centre of the plant

Sítio Espinheiro Negro - Brasil

The Tromsø palm looks absolutely beautiful decorated with snow. In the summer, the excitement is not so great, it is very hardy and can grow up to 50 years old and three meters high. The ability to spread means that it often inhibits or outcompetes other plant growth

A palm tree in Aruba. In Aruba all palms point north. This is caused by a steady breeze to the north. #Aruba #PalmTree

Palm Sunday is a Christian moveable feast that falls on the Sunday before Easter. The feast commemorates Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, an event mentioned in each of the four canonical Gospels. Palm Sunday marks the first day of Holy Week. For adherents of mainstream Christianity, it is the last week of the Christian solemn season of Lent that precedes the arrival of Eastertide.
