We dubbed this particular red-tailed hawk "PaleAle" because it had a distinctive pale colored head. During the fall and winter months we saw it multiple times in the same area and on this particular the weather was nice and I had my camera so we pulled over so I could get some shots of it.

Capital Brewery's newest: U.S. Pale Ale (well...newest available...the Winter Skal isn't available yet). Quite tasty! Took a tour of the brewery tonight w/ lots of samples and then headed over to a great Irish Pub for a late dinner of Bangers and Mash. Good night!

This large sign on the gable of a pub in Bootle, has its own little sign at eye level to explain. I reprodice verbatim the xplanatory text.
'Threlfall's Blue Label Sign
It is not clear when the original painting of this advert appeared here. Threlfall's Blue Label was a pale ale served in a bottle and was enjoyed by many a drinker in Liverpool pubs well before lager became popular. The drink was brewed by Threlfall's ("Threllies"), a brewery based in Trueman Street, Liverpool that dates back to the 1800's. The brewery bought several breweries including Chesters Brewery of Ardwick that it merged with in 1961 to become Threfalls Chesters. The brewery was taken over by Whitbread in 1968 and the Liverpool Brewery was closed in 1982'
