Just one more kittiwake pic! This was my favourite pair in the colony, they provided lots of entertainment.

A pair of Common Mergansers on peaceful colorful flowing water.

This large duck inhabits rivers and lakes in forested areas of Europe, northern central Asia and North America. The Common Merganser like other mergansers have serrated edges to their bills to help them grip their prey, so they are often known as "Sawbills". They feed on fish and other aquatic prey.

My Brown Thrasher pair finally came back around. I used to see one or both of them almost every day. Then last fall, they stopped coming around. Today they finally came back! I couldn't get close enough to get a really good shot, but I was glad to see them!

I've long admired thistle plants and was stunned to find this iridescent flying insect atop the pink flower blossom. What a colorful treat!

A pair of coyotes sniffing around after they met up together. At times they were slipping on the snow because it was a bit icy.

Thank you Ana Maria Archila and Maria Gallagher.

Peace to everyone.

I was able to salvage this one. I thought mom was too obscured by the bush but she turned out OK

This pair of Goldcrests have been in the garden for the last few days - chasing each other around the place and, I’m hoping, looking for a place to nest. The make has a dash of orange on his crest while the female’s crest is pure yellow. These are the smallest breeding birds in Ireland. So lucky!

Our hares are giving me the runaround this year - finally managed to get reasonably close but never close enough.

The Tufted Duck breeds at high and middle latitudes from Iceland eastward to Siberia and winters farther south in Europe, Africa, and Asia. Significant numbers reach North America in fall migration and spend the winter, mostly along the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. Wikipedia
