Package and brand job for The Coffee Plant on Portobello Rd, I shot a macro photograph of each of the beans to show the distinct difference between them. Each was accompanied by a brief flavour description and whether the bean is organic and fairtrade. Concept to use different shades of green based around the primary colour so over time regular customers can become subconsciously accustomed to their favourite bean's shade. American typewriter and Akzidenz Grotesk font used. Unpublished.

I found this wonderful powder box in an old pharmacy in Vienna. The tissue paper reads: "Poudre compacte - L. Leichner Berlin". Underneath is a solid pink talcum powder stone. The inside of the lid features a small mirror. The outside of the box reads: "Powder in solid form, pink". This is such a lovely piece of package design and appealing typography. The box measures 4cm in height and 4,5 cm in diameter. The box must date around 1920 and is fully intact.

Caramels. Awesome packaging. The animals tops and bottoms can be swapped and new creatures invented, as it says on the inside Rabbit (Usagi) and Giraffe (Kirin) makes a 'Urin'. Urin's apparently like 'apple juice'. The other boxes are dice.

The British aren’t just fond of their tea, they quite like birds as well. So what started out as a set of experimental illustrations of birds based on geometrical shapes and a limited colour pallet evolved into a set of packaging designs for tea. Next to those I’ve also designed the little labels that goes on the actual teabags and a give-away; a basic birdhouse; that doubles as a giftbox for the packaging similar to the ones that are used for wine bottles. A simple advert and poster complete the set.

I created a number of cat illustrations based on the (for me) usual set of limitations such ass restricted amount of colours, consistent line thickness and a fixed 15º rotation increment on any angle throughout the illustrations. Within these limitations I carefully looked at the balance between the character and quirkiness of the cats without making them overly cutsie.
In a second fase I applied these illustrations to a set of fictional packaging designs and promotional items to give an idea of the potential scope of the artwork. The selected typeface and the minimal designgrid used for these items was carefully selected and based on the design principals of the illustrations themselves. This ensures a cohesive and robust system that can easily be extended to a large number of different products such as canned or dry cat food, kitty litter toys, … Next to that the hole concept can be adapted to fit different species such as dogs, birds, rabbits, … as well.
