As 23Z creeps west on track 3, 21M flies through Tipton with NS 1069 (VGN) on the point. Behind me, train 776 is waiting on track 2 for 23Z to clear the switch at Gray so that it can continue east. Between these three trains, "downtown" Tipton was blocked up for just about 15 minutes.
While getting a new crew at Conway, dad and I zipped around to Rochester, PA to watch 21J depart with the Virginian in the lead.

NS 1069 - The Virginian heritage unit, leads a westbound freight through Lily, PA. 1069 was recently repainted at Juniata Shops as the original paint was becoming faded.
NS 1069 (VGN) leads NS train 21M from Main 3 to Main 4 at Leetsdale, PA on its westward journey from New Jersey to Chicago. This certainly beats the first time I saw the Virginian trailing on the BNSF in horible light!
