A classic sized re-activated space invader with mirroreyes on a very remarkable spot; the Monument à la République or Statue de la République. This statue is a monumental statuary ensemble, work of Leopold Morice. Inaugurated in 1883 on the Place de la Republique in Paris, France, it represents an allegory of the Republic. The original space invader is one of the 'oldies' from which I have never seen the original. Re-activated after an absence of about 12 years!

Place de la République, one of the most famous squares of Paris with a monument devoted to the Republic. The main statue sits atop a monument which is 75 feet (23 m) high, it is surrounded with three statues personifying liberty, equality, and fraternity, the values of the French Republic.
It is a mythic place where people gather for demonstrations.

While photographing the outside of the Brownsville Brewery (closed in 1935), a man came outside and offered to give us a tour inside the first floor. Most of the building is just storage and mostly abandoned. We spent a good hour with him shooting inside the building and hearing the history.
Road tripped with another photographer to Brownsville, PA. Once a bustling coal town along the Monongahela RIver in southern Pennsylvania.

Weekly Theme: Bokeh
Week 2
Taken January 12, 2014
Title: Beanie Bokeh
Notes: Well, I was glad to be able to use my new 'toy' for this week's theme, namely the Nikon 105 macro I was given for Christmas :-). I love the Dof, sharpness, and the quality of the bokeh. Of course Lana 'Bean' was an welcome subject; hanging out in the cat tower and giving me a shot with the (yes, it's still up) Christmas tree in the background. She is such an excellent and personable subject, with lots of facial expressions and good intense stares ;-).
(I took this leaning against a book shelf hand held, often using my left hand to flick my fingers and get her to look AT me ;-). No cropping, this is what I saw, with a little B&W processing in Silver Efex Pro2.)
