Some iconic microscale monsters from the Dungeons and Dragons Table-top RPG. From left to right these are Young Green Dragon, Vampire, Ogre, Gelatinous Cube, Manticore, Beholder/Gauth/Spectator, Nothic, and an Owlbear (dice for scale). I made these monsters for the D&D game I run for my friends. My favourite monster of the bunch is most definitely the Young Green Dragon, if that beast doesn’t invoke fear in my players I don’t know what will anymore.
If anyone has got any suggestions for other iconic monsters that need a microscale LEGO representation; I am still looking for new ideas ;-).

Little Red Riding Hood, also known as Rose, decides to take a shortcut through the Enchanted Forest to deliver medicine and food to her grandmother. However, she is unaware of the lurking creatures that await her. After walking for a while, Rose realizes she has lost her way.
Orgbarh, a rare and tamed owlbear, also known as “The Talking and Singing Owlbear at Jack Mooney & Sons Circus,” frequently performs at children’s birthday parties. He spots Rose in the forest and attempts to warn her about the worgs and wolfweres, intelligent wolves that can transform into humans. Orgbarh also offers to help Rose find her way through the forest.
Together, they manage to navigate through the forest before dusk and head towards Rose’s grandmother’s house.

Another small D&D scene from my hand. This time depicting the idyllic goblin-overtaken Gragmaw Castle named after the Gragmaw tribe itself.
People who are keeping track might know this build was completed a small year ago already. However, the party I DM for had so far managed to avoid the location. Two days ago they at last bartered a deal with goblin-king Grol to try and slay the Dragon of Thundertree a second time. The castle itself was tricky to build as it consists of 7 overlapping towers but I think they came out quite nicely. What do you think?

No, that's not a racist name, it's a placeholder! These are some of the "Made in China" generic pseudosaurs that have been sold on the cheap shelves since at least the early 1970s (I'd wager '60s). Now, there are many more figures than these, and most of those are actual, real-life dinos. You can still find the non-weird ones in stores to this day, although sadly the stranger figures such as the ones pictured are very hard to find. Two things make the above weirdos significant:
1. When Gary Gygax was developing Dungeons & Dragons (Probably 1970-71, considering that the first version of the game was published in 1972), he bought some dime store dinosaurs and used them to invent a few new monsters. In the pic above, you can clearly see two Rust Monsters and a Bulette, matching the original artwork perfectly. He also claimed the Owlbear from the same set, although I am not sure which figure it was, and there is a possibility that the white mandible dinosaur turned into the Umber Hulk.
2. There is a very strange possibility that these are kinda-sorta Ultraman Kaiju. Sort of. They do not match anything from the show, but a couple of scans from ananonymous magazine (or fan zine, or catalogue, or poster) seem to show Ultraman grappling with a few of these monsters. But this is hard to figure out - the scans show no real identifying details, and magazines had a tendency to make up their own unofficial Ultra Kaiju, anyway. The chances of one of those custom Kaiju getting an official toy are very, very low... but the picture is there! There is also the possibility that they showed up in Ultraman manga, but that stuff is insanely obscure. If anybody is interested in helping me solve this puzzle, ask and I'll try to forward you all the info we have!
I've had these particular toys since I was quite young. The little yellow rubber guy was my first glow-in-the-dark toy that didn't glow basic white/green, in fact!

After we heard stories about Owlbear sightings in the old forest on Loch, we decided to launch an expedition and investigate. We didn't find any Owlbears, but we did find a weird shrine of sorts that makes sounds, and an abandoned fort (though Lady Rain assured us it was used by the Rangers sometimes). In the fort, we found a strange crystal that we took with us to give to the Magi for investigations.
When we heard sounds from the forest outside, and saw a shadow move between the trees in a distance, we quickly moved out and found our way back to the road and Nexus!
(Part of an ongoing roleplay with the evil Fae Luludja, Owlbears, the necromancer and an unknown lich)

You know, it sounds goofy on paper (like a ducksnake), but think about how vicious owls are for a moment.
Owlbears were originally invented by an insane mage, only to break free and breed until they became part of the ecosystem. They are one of D&D's most classic monsters, and apparently came from another of those weird knockoff dinosaurs, only one that you almost never see.
Woot finally! Technically it's my second outing with DnD based work after debuting with Donald Trump as a Beholder but if you ever knew me in real life I just love immersion into all sorts of fantasy stuff and giant robots. Anyways I've only had a brief descriptions of each character so I'm mostly fleshing them from my own brain which is a weird place. Decided to tackle all six of them at once which will be both slow and fast making sure I keep to the same style. I started off with silhouettes because although I want them to look unique and identifiable design-wise at a glance, they should also be cohesive and believable as an adventuring unit. Anyways I'm literally having the time of my life filling in the details in right now so Weeeeee!!!
Some of the chickenz were abducted! We had to enter the mines and finally found them in the sekrit hatchie cookie stash location. The hatchies are no suspects though, since we found plenty Owlbear footprints all over the place!
We exited the mines at the Dragon temple, bringing the rescued chickenz with us!
This is my only build for this set. I'm sure I could have made more but I fell in love with the Mecha Owlbear and I don't want to disassemble it.
This is a reimagining of one of the iconic Dungeons & Dragons monsters, the owlbear. Part owl, part bear, and fully malicious, it has challenged gamers for generations. This is a study for submission to this challenge.

This is a one of a kind totally handmade art doll. This Owlbears body is hand sewn with faux fur and stuffed with soft polyfill with plastic pellets stuffed in his bottom to help him sit by himself. The face and claws are cast from lightweight but strong resin that has been hand painted and clear coated to prevents scuffs.
The hair pieces are hand shaped wool with copper wrapping. Glass eyes, buffalo tooth necklace with with quartz and stone beads. His elbows have striped feather like fur flair!
This Owlbear is 12" ( 30cm) from ear to claw. One of a kind, handmade with lots of love and care... I put a lot of time into these guys!
Made with parts lifted from the Gorrilla legend beast and the power lifter. Had to downsize it a bit to fit MFZ scale, still kinda big though. Sorta fits in 10x10x12 box if you fold in its arms.

One of a kind doll of everyone's favorite DnD monster... the OWLBEAR! This guy has a necklace made from real antler and fossil mammoth bone. 13" from head to toe claw tip. He's even got little arm feathers and tail feathers made from felt!
This is entirely handmade.... the face and claws are hand painted cast resin. The face is set with glass eyes. His hair chunks are hand shaped wool with brass accents and a river rock bead. He is a soft, floppy style doll with no inner armature.

This is Harlo the Owlbear! He just arrived with the winter storm that's blowing outside right now! I found him scratching at my door , his furry body completely covered in snow. After i warmed him up Harlo raided my fridge and ate all the smoked salmon, washing it down with a whole bottle of hot sake. He's now wrestling the dogs and being a nuisance! Harlo is a good bird despite his Owlbear bossiness...he's certainly not dull to be around!
This is a handmade, one of a kind piece of art. The face and claws are an original sculpt cast in resin that is then hand painted. Each cast piece is sealed with clear coat. The body is a soft, non articulated floppy style stuffed with soft polyfill and plastic pellets to weight the butt for easy sitting. High quality thick faux fur body.
Harlo's necklace is made from raw African amber chunks, quartz, fossil garfish scales, buffalo teeth, a Kuchi coin pendant and various stone/glass/seed beads.
