Shots of Lake Ontario meeting the breakers on shore. I had to overprocess the hell out of these shots in Photoshop, so if anyone has tips on shooting water I'd greatly appreciate it!

Day 32 (32/366)

I thought I would photograph some bright color for a change. Then I decided I would have some fun in Photoshop and totally overprocess. I kind of like it :)

Random photoshop overprocessing.

200 kodak overprocessed

Best viewed large. Taking inspiration from Flickr user LOMOKEV, I overprocessed the hell out of this shot.

Sometimes I like to play with my photos, this was one of those times.

The creek is such a pretty place to take photos, but unfortunately the tall trees and lackluster sunset colors made a dull image SOOC. This one is a bit overprocessed, but I like it. (Check out the swan in the lower left corner!)

Therfield Heath nr. Royston,

a bit overprocessed, but looks like I remember it

I think this was intended as a gift from one of the cats. Luckily it never found its way into the house.

A wartime sky. Alien shapes overhead. Who's watching?

Although this is an HDR image, too, I tried not to overprocess it to such an extent that it looked surrealistic. I wanted to be able to see inside the building.

That's one beauty of HDR...we can save the dynamic range from the bright highlights to the intricate details in the shadows. Our human eye can see this range, naturally, but the camera cannot. Thus, we create multiple exposures to show each portion of the proper image.

I combined 3 images using the Nik HDR Effects plug-in for Apple Aperture.

Heavy Frost.

It turns out we got a pretty cold winter, it's now several weeks more or less freezing. The snow is gone, but the lakes have thick ice now. This allows persepectives that are impossible normally, you can just walk into the lake. Nice. Unfortunately the paths are slippery, I managed to fall on my buttock on my way back, but luckily I had my camera packed already, when that happened.

I realitze the last few rounds of photos were a little heavy handed and overprocessed. Here I tried a more subtle rendering which maybe suits the subject better? I don't know. Decisions, decisions ... I try to get out again to one of the lakes at the weekend. Usually at the weekend under such conditions everything is pretty crowded and not so nice and quiet as it looks like here, when I was almost on my own.

Probably way overprocessed, but I like it anyway - adds some nice Drama. Had to do quite a bit to bring up the shadows nicely - want to keep it a bit mysterious while still showing some detail.

Marin County. Highway 1.

This one is a bit overprocessed in an attempt to fix the blown sky.

That's our dog Kitty. This image is a perfect example of what happens when a photoshop amateur gets too much time on his hands.

Also there is BW version.

from the parade, just before they honked the horn, scaring Natalya.

an experiment in over-processing

:)

Cherokee Heights Park, looking west from atop the sledding hill. It's overprocessed but I can't get myself to change it.

A failed effort at a full mosaic, so an overprocessed section of the rough end of the Moon.

Overprocessed on purpose...

Images were taken off from a mirror... lighting was a lamp shade just below the face...

No makeup whatsoever ... impromptu shot actually.. didn't know it'll look this way...

This was taken abt 1 yr back.... after one yr of stress and work.. the subject no longer looks as fresh... sigh...

Please don't pinch my pictures. If you'd like to use them, then let me know. I probably won't charge, but it's nice to be nice, right?

after seeing the colors of the slides @reteris posts here i have gone down a rabbit hole and these are totally overprocessed

over exposed/processed, oops!

Older shots I found on my photobucket. Sizes are a little small and the editing might be a tad overprocessed, but I like them quite a bit.

It's a setting with its delightful moments . . . Guitarists singing the blues . . . the farmers primping their displays . . .

I Think It Looks Pretty Good On Black

I know it looks overprocessed to some of you . . . I might agree except that the processing shifted the emphasis from the individuals in the scene to an emphasis on the whole market . . . as a viewer you didn't have to turn your focus away from the old guy fumbling in his wallet, or the lady wiping her kid's nose, or the guy caught cheating on his diet looking all guilty . . .

One of the main squares in Florence. My original photo was very poor quality, so please pardon the overprocessing on this one :(

Working overtime, a man is allowed to come home and get comfortable.

Jack, slightly overprocessed. Got wiggly with the 'Glamour Glow' slider...

A redo of the overprocessed color version

Behold overprocessing at work! Also rounded corners, but that's because I like them. :x

Going back and editing old shots which I left as dead for PS practice. I'm actually fairly happy with how this turned out.

Fly away! Heavily overprocessed in photoshop but I like the models stance. =) I don't think even she'd recognize herself. The actual photo is from a rehearsal. =) Found the wing on the ground while doing macros.

Bartender, those taps are starting to spin a little. It's making me thirsty. Pour me another, would you?

8/31/07

This was taken after midnight, but since I haven't slept, I'm still counting it as Friday's portrait.

This photo was taken and over-processed out of sheer laziness. I took a few photos, and didn't really like any once I uploaded them, but I'm too tired and too lazy to take any more. The reason it is over-processed is because, once again, I didn't like the image.

Whatever. Right now I am having a hard time caring. Too much is going on in my life right now.

My little brother leaves for college tomorrow morning and while I am fine with it, because I have been in college for 3 years now, and have been away from him for that time, my parents are not fine with it. They are going to suffer from empty nest syndrome extremely bad. The entire process is just depressing and I just want to get it over with. I can't wait until I move into school on Sunday, so I can be back in my own groove. I know I will worry about my parents, though...

Anyway... that's my life right now, so sorry about the craptastic portraits the past few days.

I photographed these on the shore of Kluane Lake, Yukon, Canada. I thought they made for cool shapes. Don't see sculpted rocks like that in Toronto! The lake is effectively whited out by upping the light levels.
