The old steps have not been in use for over a hundred years.They led down to the old stepping stones across the river heb from Gibson cotton mill in hardcastle crags in Calderdale.
Baddesley Clinton, is a moated manor house, located some 8 miles north-west of the historic town of Warwick in the English county of Warwickshire. The house probably originated in the 13th century, when large areas of the Forest of Arden were cleared for farmland. The site is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and the hall a Grade I listed building.

Floating in space, rising up, or protruding forward, either way it's a Yucca (part of the Overgrown Asparagus family). Every year at this time they send up a shoot and do this flowering thing, it's like they know it's the end of spring.

There is pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is rapture in the lonely shore,
There is society where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar;
I love not Man the less, but Nature more.

I took two photos and merged them in negative to produce this image. I finally opted for negative to better show how the branches found their way over the facade, no doubt a process of many years. Although the house looked abandoned, it was by no means expired and I expect the inhabitants to come back once the branches have come to life again.

This fence is almost hidden by the grasses. I am sure all this is now flattened by our recent snowfall. Then it can start all over again in the spring. Happy Fence Friday.
