I shot the landscape in northern California and the sky in southern California (we do get an occasional stormy day).
The view from this side of silica pond was very different from the other side so deserved a different style of edit
Change is happening fast now as Autumn starts giving way to Winter...the rain will speed the changes along so I walked the woods around the lake soaking in the leaves until dark and getting my mind around the changes. We were lucky to have all that cloud coverage, otherwise it would have too much contrast in the rock formations. I believe this was in the lower rim of the canyons in the state of Arizona.

Soft, even, overcast light and a Dunlin standing pretty along the shore. The chaos of the 100s of other shorebirds surrounding this one fades away when this beauty isolated itself to my right. It eyed me up for a moment, deciding whether it was safe to continue feeding in my direction. It was and she did.
