es war nicht nur ein langer Winter, es war auch Eiszeit zwischen mir und meiner Kamera.
Dies Bild ist eins der wenigen, die ich gemacht habe während der 'Eiszeit'.

Enjoyed a wonderful 70km loop through the Löwenstein mountains this morning - fresh air, woodland roads going up and down the hills. Just the kind of ride to experience the joys of life. Met some fellow cyclists too. Always remember to #sayhionyourride. Even a stranger's smile brightens up the day :-).

Winter is now definitely here. Started this morning ride at -7 degree celsius. Water bottle and hydration pack started to freeze in after 60 minutes. Cold today but beautiful too. Unfreezing myself now at the hearth :-)
Württembergers have some reputation for being dour People. Funnily enough, everybody says hallo ("Grüß Gott") when meeting in the villages. However, a lot of cyclists around here don't share that kind of courtesy around here when passing by. Something I've never experienced in other parts of the country when riding about. Come on people, nobody ever got hurt from being nice. Just say "hi" on your ride :-). Started a #sayhionyourride hashtag so all fellow cyclists can exchange a photographic greeting form now on. Please just share my friends.
Someone left a nice warming fire on a cold, yet sunny winter's day - nice to have at the end of a hike through the winter woods.

GWも終わると乗鞍スカイラインが開通します。
今年は5月15日開通でしたが新型コロナウイルス対策の為、5月31日までシャトルバスは運休、畳平の各施設や鶴ヶ池、平湯峠ゲート、ほおのき平の駐車場も閉鎖中です。
楽しいライド計画してはる方も多かったでしょうけど残念～私もその一人です。
第17回乗鞍スカイラインサイクルヒルクライム2020も黄色信号ですが良い結果になって欲しいですね。
この写真は2017年AACRを終えた翌日、5月22日に平湯峠からバイク仲間と登った時のヘアピンターンショット。
この年は雪壁が例年より高く見応えがあったなぁ～
因みに松本側の乗鞍エコーラインは県境ゲートまで雪に覆われていて除雪の真っ最中でした。
自粛が続く現状、このフォトで走ったつもりになってくださいね😉

春、2月下旬になれば若竹の季節もやってくる。
うっすら雪化粧の京・西陣を抜け出して洛西へ
ちょいと早いが親戚の筍薮パトロールに。
手入れの行き届いた土壌から青々とした竹が天に向かって伸びている。
そんな地を走れば冒頭の竹取物語じゃないけれど光る竹を探してしまいそう✨

We tend to celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied ad multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.
