I have shot this location a number of times over the years. Today I was there at first light as the sun climbed over the hill on the other side of the river. I love the formation here and erosion that has taken a few hundred years to complete.

This stream comes from a spring that cascades out from under a boulder high up on the ridge in the distance. It plays it own special music as it tumbles down the mountain where it joins many other such streams, eventually forming the great Vartry river which enters the port of Wicklow 20 miles to the south east.
The lone Mountain Ash stands and watches its passing as it has done for so many years.
A wild and a beautiful place.

Enjoying some solitude at the punch bowl waterfall. I'm sure later in the day this place was crawling with people. But early in the morning, I had it all to myself.

Ni la hora del día, ni la luz eran las más adecuadas, pero he querido ponerla por la belleza del lugar, a mi me pareció espectacular. El río también muy bajo de agua.
El Meandro Melero es una de esas sorpresas imprescindibles que guarda la comarca cacereña de Las Hurdes.
El capricho de la naturaleza ha querido que el río Alagón forme en el mismo límite de las provincias de Salamanca y Cáceres una pronunciada curva que vista desde un punto más alto permite apreciar una de las imágenes más bellas que se pueden obtener en la Península Ibérica.
Un impresionante meandro acompañado al fondo por el siempre espectacular paisaje del Parque Natural de Las Batuecas-Sierra de Francia.
El Melero del Alagón ofrece una estampa armónica y coloristadesde el mirador de La Antigua, que se encuentra a poco más de dos kilómetros de Ríomalo de Abajo. Se trata del lugar ideal para captar la grandeza de la estilosa curva que realiza el río.

A beautiful morning at Gates of the Valley, after a big snow storm.
The Gates of the Valley, also known as Valley View, is a beautiful viewpoint along the Merced River. You can see El Capitan on the left and Bridalveil Fall on the right.

Der Antornosee ist ein idyllischer See auf 1866 m ü. M., eingebettet zwischen grünen, jahrhundertealten Wälder und erhabenen Bergen. Den See, der zu einem wichtigen Naturgebiet gehört, erreicht man über die Straße, die von Misurina zu den Drei Zinnen führt.

I spent a little time exploring the White Mountains and the surrounding area. This was shot at above 10,000 feet.
Para mis amigos Jose y Conchi por el día tan bonito que pasamos recorriendo estos campos de lavanda, Volvimos impregnados de su aroma.
To be out on the Maunachira River in the Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana at any time is a wonderful experience. To be out there at sunset is sublime. After an afternoon of birdwatching on the river we stopped in a sheltered bay for refreshments and watched the sun go down.

Desde el mirador del Pando tratábamos de fotografiar el embalse de Riaño mientras el sol jugaba a esconderse poco a poco y pintaba de tonalidades cálidas todo cuanto veían nuestros ojos.
Yo me afanaba para no llegar tarde al espectáculo mientras preparaba el trípode, la cámara y el juego de filtros que estrenaba en el viaje a León de 2015.
Entretanto, mi sobrino Carlos jugaba a inmortalizarme a mi con la Fuji X10, que llegó a adorarle, en las posturas más cómicas que imaginarse pueda, atareado con mi pasión fotográfica, pero sin perder ni un detalle del camino solar hacia Poniente.
Me gusta su composición porque no era fácil encuadrar mostrando en una sola imagen el sol, el perfil de las montañas de Riaño, a su tío en plena faena y los asombrosos colores que nos rodeaban... Pero lo consiguió!!!
Fue un viaje inolvidable, lleno de muchas cosas hermosas además de hermosas fotografías.
