These 2 photos showing the abandoned right-of-way at Conrad, Indiana were taken on March 20th, 2013. This view is looking south. The small depot that I posted would have been at immediate left. There is no sign of it. The dirt path left of the tracks allows you access to the Beaver Creek bridge, which is down about 3/4 of a mile. I will post pics of that too. This view looks south towards Enos.

Track ahead went to Argonne. Track to right to Crandon, and track behind me to Rhinelander.

When this insulbrick house in Minnedosa, MB first caught my eye in the spring, I did not know that it was unoccupied. However, this became obvious during a fall re-visit because the window coverings were in exactly the same positions as were two vehicles on the property. Someone still cuts the grass.

Two withdrawn buses being steadily cannibalised for parts are pictured at the back of the yard of Little's Coaches at Hallam Fields, Derbyshire.

The pale blue bus is former Trent Barton 318 (YJ07VSP), a Optare X1200 'Tempo' dating from August 2007. 318 and its long scrapped sister 317, had been used by Trent Barton exclusively from new on the (now defunct) 21 service until c2017. After disposal by Trent Barton, 318 had worked with CT4N of Nottingham as their 1014 (re-registered J19CTN), and whose fading colours it still wears. The bus had been acquired from CT4N by Little's a couple of years ago as a parts donor for the two ex Trent Barton/CT4N 'Tempos' that it continues to operate. Coincidently, sister 317 had suffered a similar fate with CT4N, who acquired 317 for spares and never used it in service. At the time of this picture, 318 was heavily stripped of parts and its mechanical units removed.

The green Optare Solo to the right with the old Riley car on top of it is YAZ8645, formerly Nottingham City Transport No134, previously registered YJ51XSU. Unlike the Tempo to the side of it, YAZ8645 had been used extensively by Littles on stage carriage work. The Solo had been stripped of many parts, but may still have its mechanical units present?

Littles Coaches are now part of the Wellglade Group, so the three ex Tempos currently owned have come full circle to their original owner/operator, Wellglade being the parent company of Trent Barton.

The Subway Classic

Not all subway corridors are created equal. Some subways really show off bright and welcoming modern architecture. For example the stations of the Metro in Prague are extremely well lit and decorated projecting a welcoming feeling of safety.

The underground stations of the Buffalo Metro Rail are decorated with artwork at their above ground concourses, and below ground platforms. The concourses present various art forms like sculptures and photography, while the platform walls have been decorated with local photographs since the fall of 2013.

It's not just the decorative artwork though that makes the experience more enjoyable. It's also the artwork that's part of the architecture of the stations. The use of light, ...

West Midlands Travel, Fleetline 6410 was the last WMT Fleetline in Wolverhampton to be powered by a Leyland 680 engine. However, at the time of this photograph the bus had been converted to run a standard Gardner 6LXB engine. In the late 1970s and into the early 1980s, 6410 was one of a handful of buses on the fleet to carry an all over mid-blue livery advertising Phoenix Insurance.

The bus is pictured out-of-service in Vicarage Road, Wolverhampton, with Cleveland Road bus garage just visible to the rear of the vehicle. Its days numbered, 6410 was withdrawn in c1989 and sold to Kingfisher Travel of Redditch for further use.

The old red brick building to the left is the former James Baker shoe factory, which still stands. The building to the right was part of the Royal Hospital complex, this particular building being pulled down in 2021.

Although built in the mid 1970s, Cleveland Road bus garage seen in the far distance was demolished in 2017, apartments stand on the site today.

My mom went to California as a very young woman and took a rour of the sets where the cowboy and Western movies that she watched on TV were filmed and was astonished to see just the facades of the buildings, nothing for a roof or side or a back... that's what I thought with this shot. It's like a post apocalyptic version of the power plant where I shot videos as a teen, and I am almost 40, and the whole world has gone crazy. But I *FELT* that way!

Today it's only an 'hotel' for birds and other animals.

Now sitting rusty and abandoned.

An old shot I did of a couple of old busses. Used a blue gel inside to go against the red bus/organge sky, pretty happy how it came out, not sure why i've not uploaded it until now.

First Cymru, Dennis Dart Slf (Marshal Capital) X318 HLR seen at Kenfig Pool Nature Reserve while I had stopped to get this shot as I was driving the bus out of service back to the depot in Bridgend.

One of a number of Former London based vehicles this one of a few examples still operating out of the Bridgend depot and being a short wheelbase vehicle can normally be found on the selected routes:

B1/B2 Bridgend - Cefn Glas (Circulars).

45/46 Bridgend - Heol Y Cyw - Talbot Green.

61 Porthcawl - Nottage.

The reason being is that these routes have some very tight spots which a longer wheelbase bus would not be able to get around without some difficulties.

The now closed Muller Road Depot in Horfield, Bristol is used as a storage facility for many no longer needed buses from the First empire. It's pretty difficult to get a snap of what's in there but here's a couple quick shots taken through the gate gaps.

Up first, seen here at the back of the depot are two Dennis Dart Pointer 1's. They were new to Southampton Citybus and worked for First Hants & Dorset.

Unleaded & Diesel pumps at a old Mobil station in rural Minnesota. Price for unlead was 108.9 & diesel was 121.9 per gallon.

20 second exposure, protomachines set to green on the face of both pumps, monster sodium vapor light to camera right.
