A nerdy challenge: how to portray the Servitors of the Outer Gods while avoiding their popular representation playing incongruous flutes. They emit high-pitched ululating sounds, according to Lovecraft, but I don't think he was referring to them being cosmic flutists and pipers. Initial stages of a work in progress: prior photo documentation and first sketches inspired by it, including details of the modulation of a wheezing respiratory system.
Also known as the "Howler in the Dark," this is one of Nyarlathotep's far more beastly, brutal forms. Most often, it is depicted as slender, on tripod legs, and witha curved tentacle in place of a head (does it seem familiar now?). But Nyarlathotep is absolutely comfortable occasionally shedding his subtle seducer forms, and transforming into a howling giant when it suits him.

Also known as "The Beast" or "The Sphinx," The Faceless God is one of Nyarlathotep's masks. He takes the form of a sphinx with no face, only the endless void of the cosmos.
While some of Nyatlathotep's masks are designed to put people into false ease, or terrify them into madness, this one was a god worshipped by the ancient egyptians, and instrumental in forming their civilization. Legend has it that it returned in the fourteenth century, calling itself "The Beast," and inspiring its cult once more.
The Crawling Chaos, the God of a Thousand Forms, Nyarlathotep is the most...personable... of the Great Old Ones. He has many names and many masks, some chaotic, some totally human, One of the shapes that straddles this line is "The Black Man." Don't take it as racism! The Black Man's skin isn't African, it's as dark as coal (this figure was apparently made by colorblind people), and his features do not match. He also has the feet of a goat, and appears often to worshippers - it's not an entirely human form liek the Pharoah or Mr. Skin.
Nyarlathotep actively enjoys serving and causing chaos, making him almost a Trickster or a devil character. He ultimately serves Azathoth, the greatest, oldest, and worst of the Outer Gods, but often Nyarlathotep's schemes seem to be entirely his own.

the shelf below had a few crates of oreo-flavoured jello pudding, which is just disgusting.
The incomprehensible, mad gods of the outer parts of the universe are served by these strange, bloated, blind things. They continually dance around the great Azathoth, playing insane melodies to appease the Blind Idiot God. Theyalso perform the terrifying will of their masters throughout the cosmos, often "assisting" ignorant cultists in serving the will of the Outer Gods.

Según el grimorio maldito conocido como el “Necronomicón” cuando la vida comenzó a emerger por el cosmos, los primeros dioses crearon una entidad esclavizada con un propósito elevado que pronto descubrió una forma de liberarse de su deber impuesta por sus creadores; Utilizando conocimientos prohibidos la entidad mencionada como “Azathoth” se rebeló contra sus captores en una terrible guerra que altero el orden cósmico y retumbo en todas las realidades alternas.
La venganza que desato “Azathoth” lo deifico sobre su descendencia por sus blasfemos actos donde los primeros dioses que lo esclavizaron fueron destruidos por su retorcida voluntad de conquista, Pronto el daño que causo le fue devuelto por un grupo de dioses arquetípicos que al percatarse que no podrían destruir la forma corpórea de “Azathoth” se vieron obligados a degradar su mente y dejarlo ciego por la eternidad en el centro galáctico.
Sin mente y completamente ciego, el demiurgo primordial “Azathoth” permanece vigilado por su corte monstruosa que le sirven con temor ante una fuerza inconmensurable de poder catastrófico que podría acabar con toda la realidad existente por un berrinche. (Para aplacar su enojo y evitar el fin del universo, los flautistas amorfos le arrollan con una melodía hipnótica.)
Como dato curioso algunos humanos que fueron instruidos en magia y brujería prohibida intentan invocar a la entidad conocida como el “Caos nuclear” o “Azathoth” el dios exterior para conseguir un favor impío, pero inevitablemente fallecen trágicamente al presenciar un horror indescriptible e indescifrable. (incluso el árbol genealógico del famoso “Cthulhu” lo relacionan con el terrible “Azathoth” como su tatarabuelo.) 🐙

En resumen el amorfo primordial conocido como “Ubbo-Sathla” es un dios exterior que tiene una apariencia de enorme masa protoplasmática que reposa entre grutas y cavernas subterráneas bajo la tierra, entre los vapores tóxicos y seudópodos amebicos la entidad resguarda en su interior las misteriosas “tablas de piedra” un recuerdo de su pasado al intentar robar los secretos de los primeros dioses interdimensionales.
En el pasado distante y olvidado de todo registro la entidad conocida como “Ubbo-Sathla” fue una creación de los primeros dioses junto con su hermano gemelo “Azathoth”, molestos por una vida de esclavitud y maltratos los hermanos demiurgos robaron el secreto de los dioses y utilizaron su poder reunido para rebelarse contra sus amos; En un acto de osadía fue “Ubbo-Sathla” quien desplazo el planeta tierra a nuestra dimensión conocida provocando la furia de los dioses que consiguieron localizarlos entre las múltiples realidades a los gemelos prófugos que fueron castigados y despojados de sus mentes. (aunque “Azathoth” por su soberbia sufrió más al dejarlo ciego )
Durante la época primitiva la entidad sin mente “Ubbo-Sathla” se deslizó entre pantanos brumosos de una tierra huérfana donde engendro involuntariamente las primeras formas de vida unicelular que serían el origen y la fuente de todas las especies terrestres; transitando el paso de los eones el amorfo “Ubbo-Sathla” se filtraría entre las grietas bajo la tierra habitando el Abismo de “Y'qaa” donde se alojan incontables horrores y seres abominables engendrados por sus entrañas que vuelven a ser capturados por el dios ameba que los reabsorbe en los túneles perdidos por el ciclo eterno del tiempo. (los voormis e hiperbórea tuvieron un culto a “Ubbo-Sathla” pero abandonaron los rituales por indiferencia a sus plegarias.)
Como dato adicional, el viscoso “Ubbo-Sathla” es el progenitor de:
“Zushakon” señor de la oscuridad, “Abhoth” fuente de inmundicia, “Yig” El padre serpiente, junto con muchos otros primigenios malignos.
Por último, un video donde los magos y brujas de diferentes épocas intentaron leer las “tablas de piedra” para obtener la sabiduría del universo bajo el riesgo de disolverse en la inconmensurable masa protoplásmica de “Ubbo-Sathla”:
