Painted in Camden 2013 by Otto Schade. I first photographed this in 2015 and to my astonishment the artwork is still in situ today (March 2023) A sure sign of respect by the residents of Camden to preserve the memory of this iconic personality.

It's not pretty or honorable, but it is painted on a building on Hester Street on the Lower East Side. I was walking there yesterday NOT knowing what was happening in Florida at about the same time. more about the artist can be found at ottoschade.com

Outside the Horse and Groom Pub in London's East End. You can see that MOLA the London Museum of Archeology is excavating beside the pub. Located at the quiet end of Curtain Road, bordering the City and the now cool Shoreditch area, is this charming pub, The Horse and Groom’s history dates back to the beginning of the 1800’s, at a time when Britain was preparing for an invasion from Napoleon. This cosy East End “boozer” was built over the remains of the Curtain Theatre that, almost 300 years previously, had been the stage where Shakespeare himself acted and Romeo & Juliet and Henry V were first performed. The Curtain’s exact location was unknown until recent excavations by the London Museum of Archeology found it under the pub ( or Female toilets to be exact )!
The image of the couple on the side of the wall was created by Otto Schade; born in Chile, he originally studied architecture. His paintings range from abstract and surrealism to urban art.
Otto Schade is a Chilean-born artist based in London. We have seen quite a few of his works on both our trips to London, so it was nice to see that he had painted in Melbourne, this piece is in Fitzroy.
