Suffolk Food Hall. Orwell crossing, Ipswich. England. MMXXI

Pin Mill, Suffolk, UK. A place where boats end their days.

Orwell Bridge over the River Orwell in Suffolk UK at low tide, on a beautiful summer’s day.

Tour Perret Amiens, hometown of our (dear) French president 😐

Sunrise, sunset, tide in, tide out, Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter, the Orwell is always ready with another spectacular view. No wonder that the author Eric Blair chose the pen name under which he would later become famous, "George Orwell", because of his love for the river.

SSC - Bridges

This was my immediate idea for this challenge, initially the weather was not playing ball. Eventually there was forecast some decent cloud cover so I headed for Ipswich, Suffolk, the tide was out so I was able to get nearer to the centre of the bridge. I liked the colour version but it wasn't as dramatic.

made some improvements so he has less belts, has a moustache, and I also included my makeshift POUM flag in the background.

In 2014 as part of the Southwold Arts Festival, Charlie Uzzel-Edwards known as Pure Evil spent 2 days up scaffolding creating George Orwell who lived in Southwold for a time.

The Orwell River in Suffolk is a stunning location for photography at all times of the year and the woodland along its banks provides numerous opportunities to be creative even when just out for a walk.

A recent sunrise shot taken at Pinmill which is a fascinating place with some interesting old boat wrecks.

Down the river again, always seem to find something a little different in my compositions :-)

The aspidistra is no longer with us. I killed it!

Read how it happened: I killed the aspidistra!

Leed lo que le pasó: Yo maté la aspidistra

The brook has no flowing water. It is clogged with Fool's Watercress and could do with dredging. I am not in great favour of removing wild flowers, however, no flowing water is a habitat loss for several species.

It's amazing the hidden beauty you can find when you look at things from a different perspective

As I live near to the west end of the Orwell Bridge I rarely take photos of it from its eastern end.

"Everything faded into mist. The past was erased, the erasure was forgotten, the lie became truth."

— George Orwell ("1984")

Taken on the bank of the River Orwell at Fox's Marina, Ipswich, Suffolk.

Returned to this spot on a foggy day to catch a bleak view of New York City. Darker than the other photo I posted of this scene, everything is slightly off angle. Also ... the dark hollow windowframes add to the mood. This is 32nd street taken from above Penn Station.
