Sunrise, sunset, tide in, tide out, Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter, the Orwell is always ready with another spectacular view. No wonder that the author Eric Blair chose the pen name under which he would later become famous, "George Orwell", because of his love for the river.

This was my immediate idea for this challenge, initially the weather was not playing ball. Eventually there was forecast some decent cloud cover so I headed for Ipswich, Suffolk, the tide was out so I was able to get nearer to the centre of the bridge. I liked the colour version but it wasn't as dramatic.
made some improvements so he has less belts, has a moustache, and I also included my makeshift POUM flag in the background.

The Orwell River in Suffolk is a stunning location for photography at all times of the year and the woodland along its banks provides numerous opportunities to be creative even when just out for a walk.

Returned to this spot on a foggy day to catch a bleak view of New York City. Darker than the other photo I posted of this scene, everything is slightly off angle. Also ... the dark hollow windowframes add to the mood. This is 32nd street taken from above Penn Station.
