Charles Wilda was the elder brother of the painter Heinrich Gottfried Wilda (1862-1922), studied as a student of the painter Leopold Carl Müller at the Vienna Academy . He belongs with Hans Makart and Leopold Müller, called Egypt-Müller , the center of Austrian Oriental painting , a special topic within the genre that he had met with Muller, the Oriental genre again earlier in Paris with the French painter Eugène Fromentin learned to appreciate. , Wilda is considered the most independent of Müller's pupils. Mueller wrote in his travel reports, "His Genre paintings are characterized by careful observation and elegant presentation, their coloration has more luster than force, more shimmer than flicker ... "The prestigious Vienna art critic Ludwig Hevesi ruled him in 1903 : " In recent times, Karl Müller found in Wilda an excellent successor ...". In his paintings played daily life in Cairo, where he was often the most important role. His paintings have titles such as "The Snake" and "The Story teller"... In 1892 he undertook the same age sculptor Arthur Strasser one Egypt trip, this was also the inspiration for his works. Since the 1880s, he put almost regularly on the Viennese annual exhibition , the Berlin International Art Exhibition , the annual exhibition of Munich or Dresden International Art Exhibition of. At the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900 , he was represented as well with some of his works. His signature variants are CW , C. Wilda and Ch Wilda ... The Western Painters Rudolf Swoboda , his former classmate, painted another portrait Wilda's in the year of his death. The Künstlerhaus Vienna honored him in the autumn exhibition in 1907 with a memorial exhibition in which 50 works, nearly all of which were shown in oil on canvas. Wilda died 52-year in Vienna

Buck orignal en mue !

Orignally inspired by Colette Peters... I made a few modifications such as laying it down instead of having it stand up... the cake has to travel 3 hours this afternoon and since I'm not delivering it I figured it was safer to lower it's center of gravity.

Ce gros mâle avait toute une attitude et sur cette photo, vous pouvez le voir frotter ses bois dans les arbustes. Il était vraiment très gros.

I took this while waiting for a bus.

Yes I'm back again.

However due to my main computer on which I edit my work being struck down with a big bad virus, this picture and all the others I am uploading, were Unedited but have now been replaced with Edited versions. So enjoy and Thanks for your patience and understanding.

I do still hate everything about this shit that is new Flickr and always will, but an inability to find another outlet for my work that is as easy for me to use as the Old BETTER Flickr was, has forced me back to Flickr, even though it goes against everything I believe in.

I don't generally have an opinion on my own work, I prefer to leave that to other people and so based on the positive responses to my work from the various friends I had made on Flickr prior to the changes I have decided to upload some more of my work as an experiment and to see what happens.

Orignally towed back to the UK by me some 30 odd years ago ! Now for sale ( not by me ) as a resto to be finished

Cape Breton Island (French: île du Cap-Breton - formerly Île Royale, Scottish Gaelic: Ceap Breatainn or Eilean Cheap Bhreatainn, Míkmaq: Únamakika, simply: Cape Breton) is an island on the Atlantic coast of North America. The name most likely corresponds to the word Breton, the French adjective referring to the Atlantic province of Brittany.

Cape Breton Island is part of the province of Nova Scotia, Canada. The 10,311 km2 island accounts for 18.7% of the total area of Nova Scotia. Although physically separated from the Nova Scotia peninsula by the Strait of Canso, it is artificially connected to mainland Nova Scotia by the 1,385 m (4,544 ft) long rock-fill Canso Causeway. The island is located east-northeast of the mainland with its northern and western coasts fronting on the Gulf of Saint Lawrence; its western coast also forming the eastern limits of the Northumberland Strait. The eastern and southern coasts front the Atlantic Ocean; its eastern coast also forming the western limits of the Cabot Strait. Its landmass slopes upward from south to north, culminating in the highlands of its northern cape. One of the world's larger salt water lakes, Bras d'Or ("Arm of Gold" in French), dominates the centre of the island.

The moose (North America) or Eurasian elk (Europe) (Alces alces) is the largest extant species in the deer family. Moose are distinguished by the palmate antlers of the males; other members of the family have antlers with a dendritic ("twig-like") configuration. Moose typically inhabit boreal and mixed deciduous forests of the Northern Hemisphere in temperate to subarctic climates. Moose used to have a much wider range but hunting and other human activities greatly reduced it over the years. Moose have been reintroduced to some of their former habitats. Currently, most moose are found in Canada, Alaska, Scandinavia and Russia. Their diet consists of both terrestrial and aquatic vegetation. The most common moose predators are wolves, bears, and humans. Unlike most other deer species, moose are solitary animals and do not form herds. Although generally slow-moving and sedentary, moose can become aggressive and move surprisingly quickly if angered or startled. Their mating season in the autumn can lead to spectacular fights between males competing for a female.

Canada, September 2013.

Earlier this week Société-Orignal, purveyors of incredible, truly Canadian flavours, and premium quality, announced their closure. The five-year-old company has been an exciting part of Canadian cuisine, celebrated locally and internationally - from Canoe, the first Toronto restaurant vendor I knew of who not only introduced the ingredients to most of the dining public, but embraced it with open arms building tasting menus (www.flickr.com/photos/sifu_renka/albums/72157635315443695) and events(! www.flickr.com/photos/sifu_renka/albums/72157632099230736) around the beautiful products.

So what does a big fan like myself do upon hearing such a sad announcement?

That's right, gather ever last bit of my favourite flavours (and a few others to spare) before they are but a memory. Thank goodness for Stasis Preserves.

(Out of stock) Remonte-Pente Maple Syrup (THE BEST)

(Now end of line due to a sad loss) Balconville cider vinegar (INCREDIBLE)

Late harvest cider vinegar (INCREDIBLE x 2)

Raw Linden honey

Sylvestre & Paparmane pure forest honey

Goat milk caramel

Orignal photo shows a scene from italy in the 40s...

So I´m finaly back from denmarks rainy shores...

Had some ideas and pictures in mind for the next painting, but they need the right fromat and size, so I selected a photo that fit to the format I had prepared bevor my holidays.

I´ve got no idea, where the original was from... I had already put this one away once, becouse it has so many lines for a relativly smal sized painting...

It may not have the quality of my best work, but I kind of like the result - or maybe that´s just becouse of the Scotch I drank while painting.
