Sentier Ernest-Laforce, parc de la Gaspésie (Québec) - Première sortie aux orignaux. Assurément l'un des bons endroits pour voir cette espèce au Québec. Le défi reste de les avoir dégagés, en milieu ouvert, ce qui n'a pas été le cas ici... La partie supérieure du sentier, plus dénudée, offre de beaux décors à cet égard, mais encore faut-il que les bêtes soient au rendez-vous!
Note technique : L'objectif idéal pour cet endroit serait à mon avis un 70-200mm f/2.8.
Rencontre exceptionnelle avec une femelle orignal en pleine saison de chasse. Elle s'est approchée tellement près de moi et de mon ami que j'ai du me reculer pour réussir à faire la mise au point. Mon ami a même réussi à la toucher. Malheureusement la lumière était très faible pour un APS-C, donc la qualité d'image n'est pas au rendez-vous, mais l'expérience était tellement extraordinaire que je suis néanmoins satisfait d'avoir eu la chance d'en tirer quelques photos. Quel beau souvenir...!

Terre-Neuve, St-Anthony-2021
J'ai couché 3 nuits dans le secteur St-Anthony afin de visiter l'anse aux Meadows et le Viking Trail, mais aussi pour connaître ce secteur de l'île de Newfoundland. Un secteur très venteux et une météo très changeante.
Anecdote : Le matin du départ vers le sud de l'île, nous sommes partis à 5h30 et il faisait nuit encore. Après deux heures de route, nous avions vu 31 orignaux en bordure ou, au milieu de la route 437. Oui, il y en a beaucoup..!

The Old Jail (1825-1998) in L'Orignal, Ontario, Canada.
It was built in 1825 in neoclassical, loyalist style, and was expanded several times. It was decommissioned in 1998.
A local and prominent citizen of L'Orignal, Jacob Marston, offered two acres of land for its construction. Additions were added in 1850 (West wing) and in 1862 (East wing).
It was also the only francophone jail in Ontario. It was opened to the public as a museum in 2007. However, the second floor is still occupied by the oldest, functioning courthouse in Ontario.
It is the oldest judicial building still in operation in Ontario.

Cet orignal m'en a mis plein la vue, impressionnante bête. Puisse qu'il fait parti des animaux recueilli au refuge du Zoo de Falardeau, Saguenay, Québec. La mission de ce zoo est de d'accueillir des animaux blessés, malades ou en difficulté. Et l'objectif est de les remettre dans leur habitat naturel, si cela est possible. Chaque animal a son histoire, pour la connaître, faites le détour...
This guy is heavely influenced by MGF's darth maul he really inspired me to make this guy. The torso legs and arms are all painted by me and the head is from the orignal maul with a extra Savage horn set painted red and the horns painted tan.

The unique excellence of the original Citroen DS range is now recognised through out the world. It is still a very impressive vehicle. I am fortunate enough to own one of the current range of DS Automobiles and it is quite superb in everyway but it does not quite approach of the original concept's dominance of the meaning of unique.
La texture du velours sur ses bois est en transformation. D'ici une semaine celui-ci se détachera en lambeaux.

Here's one of my HDR shot that I don't like that much... until I turn it into DRI shot.
Each time that I will post a picture here, I will also post the unsuccessful HDR result. That way, you will be able to compare both and realise the more natural look of the DRI approach!
My technique is alway the same:
Three exposure -2EV, 0, +2EV and then adjustement using Lightroom and layering using photoshop.
DRI stand for Dynamic Range Increase. Three RAW files are used to achieve this. Rather than using a software like Photomatix for instance, I simply use mask to blend, my own way, the light, dark and normal shot with Photoshop and Lightroom.. To me, It looks more natural than the usual HDR treatment that I would normally applied.

Chaque fois que je posterai une nouvelle image dans cet album, je posterai aussi l'image HDR résultante. Vous serez a même de constater le look plus naturel de l'approche DRI.
Ma technique est toujours la même:

DRI vient de l'anglais Dynmic Range Increase, qui pourrait se traduire par étendue dynamique améliorée. Les même 3 fichiers RAW entrent dans la composition d'un DRI. Plutôt que de se servir d'un logiciel comme Photomatix qui fait tout le travail, je me sers plutôt de masques pour filtrer l'éclairage dans photoshop et Lightroom. De mon point de vue, cette façon de faire donne une image plus naturel que le traitement HDR que j'employais auparavant.

So, this was orignally just supposed to be a post asking if somebody wants to do a figbrawl, but I went overboard with the editing. (Hey, what's new? :P )
Anyway, who wants to do a Figbrawl (Figoff, whatever you want to call it) with me?! :D
I'll probably do one with the first one to comment with a theme idea. So if you want to go up against me in a battle of bricks (Well, minifigures parts... I just wanted to do a LEGO pun.) Comment below saying so and what the theme of the Fig-Brawl should be!
Belle rencontre avec ces deux orignaux durant leur sortie mère-fils dans la Forêt Montmorency - Août 2019
Parc national de la Gaspésie... Quand un jeunot toisant le mètre 90 à l'épaule traverse la piste devant nous. Pas le panache escompté mais déjà un joli face-à-face.
Une autre belle rencontre d'un orignal mâle qui a essayé de se rapprocher du groupe de femelles qui était bien surveillé par un gros mâle à proximité.
