Oreja de gato
Tradescantia fluminensis is a species of spiderwort native to South America. It is a perennial ground cover. The flowers are white with three petals and approx. 0.5–1 inch (13–25 mm) in diameter. The plant requires a moist soil to do well but is retarded by cold climates, especially where there is frost or snow. It tolerates heavy shade.
El castillo de Oreja es un castillo que se encuentra en el antiguo poblado de Oreja, llamado Aurelia en tiempos del Imperio romano, en la localidad de Ontígola, al este de la provincia de Toledo
Los musulmanes poseían un castillo en tiempos de Alfonso VI de Castilla en el antiguo paraje romano de Aurelia (antecedente del nombre de Oreja) que adquirió dicho rey como dote de su esposa Zaida.
Tras la derrota en la batalla de Uclés, en el año 1108, perdió el castillo y este fue una amenaza constante para el reino de Toledo al controlar el vado del río y permitir su paso a expediciones que avanzaban por la orilla derecha hacia la ciudad, anulando la cabeza de puente del castillo de San Servando. En 1113 Mazdalí tomó el castillo y lo convirtió en un punto de ataque contra las tropas castellanas, que sufrieron una gran derrota en sus proximidades en el año 1132.

Oreja is a stray cat that comes every day to visit me. After eating, he usually leaves. But one day, he climbed to the roof of the garage and took a long nap all afternoon. Gotcha!!

Today, the red-eared slider turtle is a popular pet in the areas but it has also been nominated as being among the world’s 100 of worst invaders by the International Union for Conservation of Nature because larger turtles are released by their owners, which has led to the introduction of many slider turtles into natural ecosystems. The native Japanese pond turtle (Mauremys japonica) is presently threatened by habitat degradation, environmental pollution and water pollution, as well as by the introduction of alien turtle species to Japan.
