Order from chaos, viewed from above.
A ferry deck is never short on activity, but the challenge is turning movement, machinery, lorries, water, and infrastructure into something legible. Lines lead, blocks stack, colours separate, and the eye finds its way through the frame.
Graphic composition is about editing in real time. Choosing what stays, what aligns, and what carries the weight of the image.

PECKING ORDER hierarchy based on rank & status...this alludes to behavior originally recognized among HENS, in which those with high rank in the group attacked by PECKING those of lower rank without provoking an attack in return. The term was used in the 20th century studies of animal behavior and was adopted as a popular aspect of human behavior.

The Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Awards were established in 1994 by the University of Toronto Alumni Association (UTAA) and the Division of University Advancement in order to recognize students who have made outstanding extra-curricular contributions to their college, faculty or school, or to the university as a whole.
In naming the awards after Gordon Cressy, the former vice-president of development and university relations, the UTAA recognized his commitment to higher education and his leadership in fundraising and community service. The qualities of leadership and dedication demonstrated by Mr. Cressy during his six years with the university are also embodied in the efforts of students chosen to receive this award.

Discover history’s darkest secret in The Order: 1886, the game that re-writes history by introducing a unique vision of Victorian-Era London, where Man uses advanced technology to battle a powerful and ancient foe. In an alternate history where myths and technology co-exist, players take on the role of Sir Galahad, a hardened member of an elite order of Knights engaging in a centuries-old war that will determine the course of history forever.
Hundreds of years before the game’s version of 1886, humanity de-evolves and a subset of humans becomes the genetically different “Half-breeds.” War eventually breaks out between humans and Half-breeds for power and survival, and in order to combat these fierce enemies, a brotherhood was formed through the Knights of the Round Table – an alliance called The Order. The Knights of The Order have waged wars across centuries and sworn to defend humanity while protecting the secrets of this dark history. Strengthened by a mysterious liquid called Blackwater, the Knights of The Order are able to heal their wounds and extend their lifespans in order to engage this supernatural foe.
Through the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, The Order is now equipped with powerful weapons to turn the tide against the Half-breeds, but must also face a new threat. A rebellion emerges and the Rebels’ ranks are growing, as is their boldness, as they declare an all-out war against The Order and the government oppression it represents. Now, the Knights of The Order must face threats on all sides as they struggle to maintain peace and order.

By Robert Adam, this east section was amended by Robert Reid in 1810 with later alterations including Lorimer & Matthew, 1939 (to George Street). Symmetrical Neo-classical palace block over half of which is now Roxburghe Hotel with a linking entry to George Street. Polished cream sandstone ashlar. 5-bay centrepiece, arcaded at ground with round-headed windows and door at centre. Outer bays projecting Ionic order pavilions.
The centrepieces were redesigned by Robert Reid, without Adam's large lunette windows which can be found on the opposing side of the square. Nos. 38 and 39 were first linked to form the Roxburghe Hotel in the 1870s, the other houses being added subsequently.
As a part of phase one of Edinburgh’s New Town, the first plots to be released were those in the eastern half of the New Town, particularly in St Andrew’s Square, where nearly all plots had been feued by 1780. Plots continued to be feued, until development reached most of the way along George Street by 1792. Adam’s drawings for Charlotte Square are dated 1791. He was expected to provide designs "not much ornamented but with an elegant simplicity such as the north front of the College."
The first feu in Charlotte Square was granted in 1792, shortly after Adam’s death, but the outbreak of war with revolutionary France led to a meant that after the completion of the first house, it took a considerable time for others to be built. By 1800, only six of the nine plots on the north side of the Square had been built upon. However, the market began to improve, and building began on the west side in 1803, then on the east side by 1810 when Robert Reid revised the designs for the central portion, and on the south side in 1811. Charlotte Square was finally completed in 1820, nearly thirty years after its design.

A stern-faced John Moss, having fun playing the role of secretary to the House of Keys, the lower chamber of Tynwald, the Isle of Man's parliament. John is standing outside the Old House of Keys in Castletown. Designed by Thomas Brine, this building was the meeting place for members between 1821 and 1874, when the House of Keys moved to Douglas, the modern Manx capital. The Old House of Keys is owned by Manx National Heritage, which since 2000 has restored the building to its 1866 appearance. Visitors can take part in mock debates over past and present issues concerning the Isle of Man. John, who works for Manx Radio, is on hand in a voluntary capacity to ensure order is maintained.
