My battalion was stationed as protectors of the people on Ryloth when we got our new orders. I hesitated at first to accept these orders, as they weren’t from our commanding officer or Jedi. I’d be able to tell if it was our Jedi, a young Palawan he somehow found his way to commanding a battalion. I wouldn’t be surprised if I was told his father was involved. Kiran Vanku, a representative on the senate for Ryloth. He was a human, and thus shouldn’t have authority of a Twi-lek planet. But his son, Kass Vanku was in the Jedi order and on Ryloth anyways. He hadn’t treated the Twi-leks with the respect they deserved. Often treating them as lesser peoples, sometimes threatening with his lightsaber. He talked in ways that were similar to how he talked to his own ranks. He was an obvious child of Coruscant leisure. Usually coruscant’s meddling politics had no effect on the Jedi ranks. But this must’ve been an exception.
So once we arrived on Coruscant after obeying orders from Palpatine himself. We were assigned with low level inspection. We were to wipe the 357th floor from the “surface” of the city. Other battalions and jedi led squads, were sent down to lower and higher floors at the same time. The noisier jedi were sent lower it appeared. As we made our way down a central street, a group of seemingly intoxicated Twi-leks walked in front of us. One stumbled and got in Kass’s way, Kass tossed the Twi-lek to the ground, I reach to stop him as the other 3 Twi-lek fell back towards their fallen friend. Kass makes the unneeded decision to light his saber. The street was illuminated in blue, frightened the 4 Twi-leks ran off into the dim lights of the Underworld. Kass deactivates his saber as both the blue light and the Twi-leks fade into darkness.
After searching for what seemed like hours, a twitch from my comm rang out, I looked around to make sure I was in a secure location, I had my two closest men at my side and Kass was ahead checking the end of the alley we were in. After all, it was Palpatine who glowed blue on the other side of my visor. “Execute Order 6-“ I shut the comms channel immediately.
My sidearm is pulled from the holster on my chest and I fire a blue bolt of light towards Kass. My visor blocks the hatred of my eyes, the calm and readiness I feel that will carry this bolt into his head. The bolt flies into his raised lightsaber hilt, sending it flying to the ground nearby. My hatred fading, and my calmness increasing, I slip my pistol into my holster. Then beckon towards the jedi , no longer beckoning to him as my jedi but as my traitor...my target. Flashes of blue fly from my side as CT-6435 and CT-7492 blast 2 bolts toward Kass. He falls, unable to comprehend what has happened.
My mind searches for the memories on Ryloth and the recent event here, on level 357. Two more bolts of blue light fly...and kill the 357th jedi left on coruscant.
Elephants are extremely sensitive to order, and the order shall be strictly followed. Always, the bigger and stronger first... the smaller and weaker next.

A short IANR switch job pulled 3 cars out of the CFU storage yard in downtown Cedar Falls. Here she is going by the McDonalds on 1st street. This used to be the Rock Island mainline from Burlington to Manley, Iowa and saw many famous "Rocket" Passenger trains haul thru here. Now, due to road construction in the 90's it is just a spur line down to the Cedar Falls Utilities. Originally kept to enable coal deliveries to the CFU power station, that traffic does not exist anymore due to the conversion to Natural Gas. Now, the IANR uses the CFU yard for car storage, until the Cedar River rises, which they then promptly pull the cars out of.

New Adventure Travel is in the process of receiving a second batch of ten Optare MetroCitys, following the ten that were delivered in the Spring for 'crosscity' Service X1 in Cardiff.
Those delivered so far have been split between Cardiff, Newport and Pontypridd depots. The pair at Newport also carry 'crosscity' vinyls and branding for Service N1 (Duffryn-City Centre-Ringland), and have allowed the two Mercedes Citaro C2s to be re-allocated to Cardiff.
YJ65 EOX passes the Newport Wave on the approach to Kingsway when operating an N1 journey to Duffryn in this mid November 2015 shot.

order from chaos

Funny, I shot a white paper shot a few weeks back for the CORNER challenge...
Still, time for something new. "order from chaos" was not originally intended, yet it was a byproduct of trying different comps.
After shooting various rips and tears of white paper, I decided to "ball-up" some of the smaller discards and took a series of 18 shots. When culling my challenge work, "order from chaos" stood out immensely for me, and it was the first of those 18 shots---the other 17 shots seemed forced while "ofc" felt pure, natural. You know that feeling...
Another reason I am really fond of "ofc" is that the composition itself has minor flaws, namely a bit of camera shake from a hand-held photograph and a lower shutter speed. Why not use the expensive tripod and head I own, two reasons; I'm lazy but more importantly being mobile with my rig gives me freedom and flexibility to explore more artistic compositions. Lazy or artistic, it's your call...i do what I need to do. ;-)
Anyway, "order from chaos" was shot at MFD for a lifesize reproduction of 1:1, so this frame is 22mm on the longside by 15mm on the short side--the size of the EOS-M2 sensor.
Thanks for stopping by!

Totally in love with the First Order stormtroopers right now. I loved the new design in the movie and I love the Lego version. The Lego troopers would be a little to nice and expensive to do customs with. So I took these cheap copies (my Stormtroopers speak chinese) to work with. All their equipment like Shoulder Pads, guns and ammunition bags are made of Resin. I don't like the Shoulder Pads of Lego very much, so I tried my own version. All the equipment is 3-dimensional - not printed.
Custom chair cushion/pad, freeform patchwork with Maze & Vale handprinted cotton and linen/cotton. Three layers of batting made the quilting and binding a wee bit challenging : )
Red-winged blackbirds in harmonial flight. It's challenging to get a satisfying photo of a flock in some kind of patternistic flight. I found this pattern interesting, almost turbulent, circular and three-dimensional.

Made another order on Shapeways recently before some pricing and printing changes went through. Also supporting some of my friends from The Mask Makers. If you guys want to chat with me and other custom part makers from the community, check out the Discord! Also have those guys to thank for helping me figure out the Baterra design here.
Kife's Mutuku (Mask of Adaptation) and Kopeke's Matatu Nuva are from the amazing folks at Red Star Games, an awesome project making just about every Bionicle mask under the sun, a new story, and a tabletop game. Do yourselves a favor and check them out.
Got another piece of punkdrunk-182's Botora with plans to do a bit more than slap them on Boju. Punk Drunk has to be my favorite 3D modeler in the community, but sadly he doesn't have the notoriety he deserves.
The white guy on the right is a De-Toa from a failed RP and also a great place to show off my friend vahki6's scopeless Matatu and a newcomer's awesome chakrams.
And lastly something a little different because I'm pretty obsessed with Splatoon. AnimeLEGO has some great minifig parts for everything from FNAF to Undertale to Dragonball.
Arkania was full of precious minerals that led to the arrival of the greedy CIS who wreaked havoc on the small population. We were sent to there to break up the fight - a simple skirmish was what we thought. Instead, we had been here through three moon rotations. Totally underestimating the level that the Separatists would take to fuel their operations, they were overwhelming our positions and churning the planet into a workforce. Those damn clankers, they didn’t feel cold, or pain, or hunger. Stupid useless droids. Just like the citizens, they did nothing for us either. No appreciation for us liberating their lands, they gave us little contact. Whenever they saw us, they would scramble away, the braver ones would turn and glare. A handful of the slaves we set free from the mineral mines had faces of gratitude, though we thought there was nothing to be thankful of on this wormhole of a planet. The rest...same story. Could they see that we were a step forward in the solution? Or did they think we were just part of their never ending conflict?
And then, there were the Jedi who did what they could to help us with our struggles. They had the final say, they were the highest authority, or so we thought. As the war dragged on, we felt like we were just a tool in their regime. The order was falling, and we were falling with them. Our duty as soldiers were to serve them, for the republic and its pride.
However, times were changing quickly. We also weren’t expecting the winter season to arrive so soon, and our men were unequipped for the weather. The temperature dropped to freezing conditions, and what vegetation on the planet had shriveled, all life that remained appeared dormant, the last few stragglers of moss clung on to rocks and rubble. Grabbing on to the last bits of light, and hope.
The final days of the war were coming to an end as the droid army was weakening. We had managed to grab a hold of our positions. Our last offensive was made trekking through the mountains into mining territory, to free the citizens, and the local population. General Tros Zeks and his padawan named Dorrent, hacked down countless droids clearing the way. Darkness was soon approaching, and we had to find shelter.
Our men looked up at the looming tower. It was an old building, formally a mining tower point. The Jedi general’s red eyes scanned the distance. He ordered us to secure the area. We took control of the lookout tower with little resistance. A couple of droids lay rusted on the ground and in the building. Wind blew snow up in blankets and rattled glass panels.
Taking out the droids was easy and I walked through the doorways to reach the rooftop view with Dorrent. The views were stunning as blue hour was slowly fading into a charcoal gray sky, snow curling in spirals settling lightly on our armor.
Suddenly I felt a dizzying sensation spread across my head. I grimaced and took a knee on the cold icy platform, backing up closer to the doorway on the vent. Dorrent didn’t seem to notice, he was busy studying the view. I put my hand on my helmet in hopes of relieving the throbbing sensation. My head rang with strange vibrations, and I heard voices. Suddenly, a weight seemed to be taken off. I blinked twice and looked down. My hologram had opened up and a familiar voice was speaking. I looked down as blood suddenly rushed back into my head. It was the Chancellor himself.
