I've never seen this many spiders out in a single location before.

That's a record I don't feel the urge to break.

Can someone please tell me what kind of spider is this, thank you!

Probably a young female Araneus diadematus?

Leucauge subblanda

I've seen a few of these and they have these odd holes in the middle of their web, and the spider hangs from just beneath it. I don't know if it's for hunting, or just how they build their webs.

Orb Weaver ..Family Araneidae.

with Prey wrapped up in silk.

little orb weaver and his web set up amongst the papyrus in the fish barrel. his web is all wet, just like everything else down the east coast of australia at the moment.

I found this little female Garden Orb Weaver in my back yard. She will spin a new web every night and eat it just before the sun rises. She is nocturnal and hides during the day. What a beautiful insect. Please don't use my photos without my permission (you can if you ask).
