The sun had dipped beneath a bank of cloud near the horizon and I was heading back to my car when the clouds briefly parted, with the sun lighting up the underside of some passing rain clouds a bright orange which complemented the colour of the long grass in the field below Over Owler Tor.

Although I have many more, this is the last of the captures for the time being of Godrevy Lighthouse. Hopefully I will capture the sunset one day
A different crop to an earlier version of this capture. If I have learned anything over the past 8 months, a crop will have a dramatic affect on the presentation of a composition
Carrying on the Godrevy theme; I do like LE however, why would you disguise the reflections of light on the ripples of the sea?

A trip home to England found me visiting a favourite haunt, Hampton Court Palace, Richmond upon Thames in south-west London - and this sunset greeted me as I was leaving after another wonderful visit and was standing in front of the gatehouse.
I think the great King Henry VIII himself would have approved.

The clouds were particularly eye-catching during this sunset and in one area they appeared in lines, like striations on a rock.

Once in a while all the elements come together to bring magnificent sunsets that bathe us in the final light of the day. And yes, it was warm with no chill in the air. The hill is Del Mar. The lagoon is part of the San Dieguito River Valley. The bridge in front is Jimmy Durante Blvd, behind it the railroad tracks and then the last line at the ocean is actually Highway 101.
