UMSL associate clinical professor, Dr. Erin Brooks, speaks with future optometrists after their white coat ceremony. The University of Missouri-St. Louis college of Optometry held their 24th Annual White Coat Ceremony on Friday, May 19, 2023. Forty-three students who have completed the first two years of the professional curriculum earned the right to begin their clinical education and receive the white coats. The students will be part of the graduating class of 2025.

The University of Missouri-St. Louis college of Optometry held their 24th Annual White Coat Ceremony on Friday, May 19, 2023. Went in for an eye exam and found my prescription hadn't changed in the past two years. Decided to give contacts a try though.

I work at an optometry clinic, so I'm surrounded by frames everyday. I took this shot for a friend who wanted to show her friends her new frame. It gave me a chance to practice using the macro feature on my new camera.

HONIARA, Solomon Islands (Sept. 2, 2022) – Lt. Cmdr. Hoang Harry Tran, from Wichita, Kansas, places glasses on a patient during an optometry examination at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Honiara during Pacific Partnership 2022. Now in its 17th year, Pacific Partnership is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific. Pacific Partnership is a unifying mission that fosters enduring friendships and cooperation among many nations. James Boots’s Experience as an optometrist
James shared his Boots success story. James works with Boots as a clinical governance optometrist. He joined Boots in the summer after his first year. Then after completing his 2nd year he attended the summer placement program for 6 weeks.
From full-fledged qualified optometrist to a clinical governance optometrist he got many different roles to work. He also got a chance to become a residential optometrist and then practice manager.
While sharing his experience he mentioned that he got support from Boots. He also didn’t forget to mention that he learned important things from Boots like how to run a successful practice and be a good leader.
