We were joking about one robot mounting the other until we did the actual assembly, wherein the back robot _actually inserts a connecting piece into Optimus Prime's crotch_ to complete the connection.

The gut's brain is a window to how our bodies interact with the outside world. Otherwise known as the enteric nervous system, it coordinates sensing and orchestrates responses along the digestive tract in the form of muscular contractions, absorption of nutrients, immune system activation, and more. Due to its direct connection to the central nervous system, it forms the gut-brain axis that is implicated in many digestive and neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson's disease.
We use Clarity-optimized Light-sheet Microscopy (COLM) to image mouse colon cellular morphology in autofluorescence (in cyan) and gain insight into the organization of neuronal fibers labelled with the Tuj1 antibody (in magenta) in 3D. In our work, we explore the complexities of this system's morphology and push the boundaries of neurobiology-driven engineering to create novel diagnostic and therapeutic devices for the gut-brain axis.
