~ this curiously confusing image is Posted for #Flickr21Challenge - #Curiosity, it's a shopping cart/trolley,
half submerged, sideways in a very large puddle, on a clear blue sky sunny day.
at this angle, the reflection makes it look like it's flying.
from any another angle, it just looks like a shopping cart half submerged in a puddle :)
for perspective . . . look for the waterline
First of all, this leaf is backlit. The Veins are actually recessed below the surface, however some will see the veins as raised above the surface making little cups like a rice field. I can switch from one view to the other by imaging the light as coming from the opposite direction... Can You? Some will try and figure I'm just seeing things!

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. I love that this shot messes with your head a little. What looks like a reflection at first reveals itself to be two different men pointing in the same direction - enjoy!
Fist fight in the sky!
It solves everything or not!

Who won the boxing match?
Look at the print on the t-shirt of one of the opponents, which in this case is me.
Numbers - it was always going to be the underside of the weights of my trusty kitchen scales.
The weights were inherited from my grandmother who was one mean cook. This is the underside of the 1lb weight.
The dark central area is actually indented in the weight not sticking out as it appears here, but the shadow cast makes it appear to stick out.

This is a strikingly beautiful hallway in the United States Capitol building and when you're walking in it you feel as though you are walking on glass, even though you are not. The optical illusion is amazing. The ceiling is a work of art and the floor is kept very highly polished.
it’s not the bike — it’s the idea of it. carved in shadow, stretched across wood, held still by sun. the spokes turn only in our minds, the rider long gone. what’s left is the memory of motion, drawn in light.
Dead end or just an optical illusion?
Dresden Stadtmuseum (2016)
a slightly different angle and cut than in my eight-year-old version
Some photographers try taking photos with their cameras at their hip when they are looking for inspiration. I decided to try taking photos from my car. I was able to get several good photos, but they had people in them and I did not have a model release. So here is one with a nice plant and a bit of an optical illusion in the reflection. I hope you like it!
Is the leaf pointing toward you or away from you? Is this the top or bottom of the leaf? Is it top-lit or back-lit? The fly will give you a hint to a couple of answers.
Reality - The leaf is pointing toward you. This is the bottom of a back-lit hosta leaf.
WELCOME TO UYUNI
Enjoyed a unique and unforgettable experience, out of the ordinary, enjoy a unique tranquility in the open countryside in a desert and enjoyed spectacular night views of the stars and the Milky Way in a private and specialized service with specialized guides.
The tour started with pick up from your hotel in Uyuni at 2:30 pm. We wore warm clothes to protect ourselves from the cold. We prepared to enjoy the sunrise in this place that at this time of day is completely empty, we visited all this deserted area in a completely dark place. We enjoyed seeing the stars in the immense sky creating surreal images, you will feel to be on another planet. We appreciated the Via Lactea, while our professional guide did not explain us about the constellations, from a natural point of view and from an Andean cosmovision. Finally, after enjoying an immense sky full of stars we waited for the sunrise at 6;15 am. We return to Uyuni in our shared mobility to leave us in the place of our preference.
This is a photo of wave sculpted sand and a beach rock at Clam Harbour Beach. I love the optical illusion of the beach rock appearing to be an opening or portal.
I took this photo from the Glacier Express while the train was waiting at the station of the Oberalppass. The yellow flag of the Swiss canton of Uri (picturing a bull's head) unfolds and rays seem to beaming from it. In fact, it is just the feflection of the light in the train!
I've started an optical illusion. Really anxious / excited to see how awesome it'll look when I'm done!
The longer i look at this, it becomes an optical illusion of sorts. i see the stripes as bars, although the blue actually shadow.
Morning light beams across treetops located alongside a misty pond in Chautaugua County, New York. To be honest, I'm not exactly sure exactly what was happening here atmospherically but I knew I liked the visual effect aesthetically :) Thanks for viewing!

HAVE A GREAT DAY -THANKS FOR VISITING!
Salar de Uyuni attracts tourists from around the world. As it is far from the cities, a number of hotels have been built in the area. Due to lack of conventional construction materials, many of them are almost entirely (walls, roof, furniture) built with salt blocks cut from the Salar. The first such hotel, named Palacio de Sal, was erected in 1993–1995 in the middle of the salt flat, and soon became a popular tourist destination. However, its location in the center of a desert caused sanitation problems, as most waste had to be collected manually. Mismanagement caused serious environmental pollution and the hotel had to be dismantled in 2002.
the world is governed by principles.
the principle of gravity, of cause and effect.
and the principle of order.
a perfect symmetry where every action
has its equal and opposite reflection.
a clean, logical, unchangeable system.
and yet, even in the most perfect system,
there is always a ghost. a human element
that walks through, governed by a will of its own.
Fun with "negative" shadows, which let the sunny parts of the leaf shine like a flower - a sunny leaf "flower". At the same time, the spaces between the leaves turned into a daisy.
What more can one ask for? 😊
PS: At the same time, the bright white sky turned into a flower shape as well.
The potted Money tree (Pachira Aquatica) has yet to bring me riches, but it certainly provided me with a good time.
