I've been wanting to try and take pretty much this exact shot for some time.
I managed to get out for an evening walk in the local woods on Friday evening and the light was almost perfect. That's the last oppotunity this year for this as the new spring leaves are starting to erupt.
You can find the rest of my woodland shots in this album:-

Captain's log, stardate 6102.1. While investigating a distress call from a star cluster in the Protari system our ship, the U.S.S. Constitution and its crew, were pulled into a mysterious tractor beam. All data shows that we've somehow been transported to another dimension.
Myself, Captain Jezebel Kraai along with Science Officer Cidni Starchild, Chief Engineer Harper Blackwood, and Lieutenant Moran have set foot on what appears to be a post apocalyptic world. The surface appears to be like our own Earth and so far we're reading no life forms.
Could this be Earth and could we have somehow traveled back in time? Is this the year 2231, just after the first nuclear strikes of World War III? I will update when we have more data. Kraai out.
I appreciate these wonderful ladies and fellow artist for helping me out on this one. It's been a long time coming as this shot was actually taken this past May.
I was sort of baffled about what I wanted to do with this capture then decided to do a fantasy composite with it. So this is my first try at this sort of thing. I hope you guys find it at least adequate. Thanks!♥
This the 4th capure I inducted to the In Good Company Erotica Gallery for their October show.
The gallery is owned and operated by my friend Marcus Strong. Thank you so much Marcus for the oppotunity.♥
Mallard ducklings came out of the marsh and gathered at an opening in the grass for what was an oppotunity for a family portrait.
Queenscliff Tunnel.
The wormhole (also known as the Queenscliff Tunnel) was constructed in 1908 by local fishermen as a shortcut through from Manly to Freshwater beach to the north.
I have been meaning to get to this location for a while now, and finally had an opportunity early on Friday morning.
This is actually quite a low and narrow tunneel - definitely a solo shooting oppotunity.
Here was me yesterday morning bemoaning my lack of motivation in photography. I posted a photo from June advertising the fact, and a few friendly instapals sympathised in the comments, oh woe is me! Driving back form a dog walk along the coast a spied out of the corner of my eye straw bales on Cleadon hills, maybe a picture there? So I ventured back nearing sunset on the half chance I could make anything of it. When I got there I could see I was losing the clouds big style and at sunset they would be all but vanished. The sun was too strong at the moment I could hardly make out the foreground, so was not too sure about the composition and was iffy on whether to take a photo or not. I took the photo with little enthusiasm on the success and moved on to a less dynamic composition in the light department. So I was surprised to see that this photo had a lot more merit than I gave it credit for and decided to post it.
Mt Yari, farhtest right, raises its head! This place, Tenguhara (aka Glacier Park) offers great photo oppotunities!
If I wait until after breakfast to take pictures of the moon, I will have missed it.
Same thing in life;
Don't let oppotunity go by as you will miss it!
Allready more than a year I was hoping on making this kind of picture of this beautiful Dutch dike village nearby Amsterdam. I come here every week during my bicycle tours. Now I had my camera with me and the circumstances were perfect: sunshine, less wind, white clouds and a blue sky. Very special is the floating young reed in its spring green color. Durgerdam, 2018.
This is My Best Shot 2018, because I wanted to make this picture for a long time. And alll at a sudden I saw the oppotunity on one of my weekly trips through this little dike village.
Again, I would like to thank everyone for your support, views, faves and comments!
To survive we must constantly adjust...
There is no perfection in the world...
Only how we chose to cope with it...
For me...I will accept each and every oppotunity and experience as that of joy and learning...
Some lessons are harder than others...

This vessel is called Stemat 63 and is involved in bringing a cable in shore from the new windfarm being constructed eight miles off shore from where I live in Worthing.
A chance visit to the beach last Monday evening reveald this vessel just off shore with the moon rising behind it. I thought this too good an oppotunity to miss so I hung around until dark while the moon reflection shone across the water, I now have several shots to show in the next few days as the light changed .
Fascinating how architecture elements can offer such nice photo oppotunities.
Combining with the blue hour and you get a wonderful moment at the sea :)

Not much light or color here in this cloudy winter day at Stokksnes in Iceland. But even on such days the oppotunities for photography are endless at this location....
Uber cool and very well finished Rotary Mazda. There's a million and one photo oppotunities around this honey.
Even though there was no light, there was a branch in the way, and I only had a 230mm lens, I just had to take this oppotunity to capture this Eagle. It has been a long time since I had a chance even close to this. While if I got closer I could get rid of the branch, I didn't want to spook the bird. During the winter I err on the side of caution to not disturb wildlife when resources are low.
November 2017. T3 563 arrived at the Swanage for assement. An oppotunity was taken to bring it to 'life' for a short while at Corfe Castle. It will be fantastic to see this loco running again.
Heres the real deal, the neg version .Thre was loads of fog gathering on the A10 so I jumped to the oppotunity and got out the bronica.Fog at night looks so good. I want more fog please haha.
We have a purple leaved flowering cherry tree in the front garden, which is only in flower for 1 week of the year.
I have hung a couple of feeders in its branches and positioned myself in the garage - what you have to do in lockdown to get a bird photo!
The light is nicest from 3.30 onwards and after about 5 the tree itself is in shade, but the tall trees behind it are lit up by the setting sun. Gives me an oppotunity to try out a bit of fill flash (not needed on this shot).
I am hoping the blossom will come out fully this week.
Taken in Norfolk.
Whereever you go in Hadangervidda you always have the oppotunity to get a great overview of the plateau just by climbing a bit up. Even on overcast days you can see further than you can walk.
Thank you for all of your favorites and comments and don't hold back on constructive criticism since that is what truly makes us better photographers.

Lockdown might give me the oppotunity to share many of the photos I never had chance to.

I love this photo and these buses. I am so glad this turned out well as my other many shots were either dark or faulty LED's. So when this missed the lights I jumped on the oppotunity. So here we see Brand new Lothian City Bus 1087 at Bruntsfield on a service 16 to Colinton looking brilliant.

I have a friend over for some photography so Wednesday morning we decided that doing the sunrise would be a great idea and with a good forecast predicted and the possibility of some mist in the valley we made our way up to the classic view above Winnats Pass.
At 04:20 it was looking good as we set off from Hathersage and was quite excited with the low lying mist as we drove through the valley, arriving at the top of Winnats however was somewhat different as we were greeted with thick fog, not to be deterred we made our way to the viewpoint and waited for the fog to clear.
We waited for an hour and a half and just got one brief moment when the fog rolled away long enough to grab this shot.(0.5 sec f/6.3 @ 7mm NiSi GND8 (3 stop) hard grad)
Love this technique but need to improve it, have seen some amazing HDR night shots around the web and tried to do something similar. This is a big city so can't do those amazing skies, as far as I know, so here's my first try, will try again later as the oppotunity arises.
Sinar f2 4x5 camera in action in the studio yesterday.. at last! I bought my large format cameras last autumn but have only ever shot Polaroids (Fuji FP100C) or roll film (6x7). I waited a long time to buy developing kit for 4x5. i then bought my first 4x5 sheet film - Fomapan 100 and then more recently I had to wait to book a good model in the UK and wait til I was not away. Time to develop the film. So many oppotunities to screw up a photo doing large format film. It is as far away as you can get from an iPhone snap / P&S camera.
Leica M9 + Industar 26M 52mm f2.8 + bare Speedlight
Roisin helping me for yesterday's photography workshop in Coventry. I took the oppotunity to use some of my cheapest Leica M mount lenses to show that you don't need expensive ASPH / APO lenses to make a nice picture
I was teaching portrait lighting with a speedlight to show the light modifiers are not always needed.
Since we last shot, Roisin is now Miss Warwickshire GB 2014 and is competing for the title of Miss Great Britain 2014 in November - www.facebook.com/misswarwickshire2014
We leave for Paris tonight. I have a whole week of MRI convention there. I'm so excited for this oppotunity. I'm not sure of what will become of this photo project thing when I'm there. I'm not even sure I'll bring my DSLR. 10 days of phone photography… In Paris… what do you think?
To all who perished the tragedy in PHILIPPINES & to other countries that hit by unexpected wake up call-lets pray for their soul be in heaven of our Father, who has the power to heal every human broken hearted and pain cause of mother nature-Through out their ordeal this time of sorrow, We are so lucky and blessed, , we all have the oppotunity to share and give a little smile to the faces of all our brethren....God Bless my flickr friends, HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY!!
b back later.
NYE morning at North Narrabeen Pool. There was a pretty nice sky happening. I managed to get some comps that I have not used before. To all, I hope you have a fantastic New Year, with many great photograghic oppotunities.
So Ive agreed to join the very talented lyanne wylde on a 365. Never done one before so will be a challenge.
Starting off with a shot taken in Cuba from where I have just recently returned.
This one taken in Mantanzas a town about 70km from Havana. As you can see its caught in a bit of a time warp like most of Cuba which makes for some great photo oppotunities even if they do occassionally come at a cost. This one cost me two triple A batteries which a local asked me for just as I was taking this shot. Maybe he used them to start up this car?
A pair of these, a bright idea, and the will to put in the work. Oppotunity and resources will shape the result. Courage to show it to the world – to put it and yourself out there – is a necessity. I'm grateful for the combination of these that is available to me.
It's that time of year again when my favourite Art Installation goes up. As usual I couldn't wait to get there and see it and it certainly didn't disappoint. This year there is a return to a door theme which I love. The creativity of these installations never fails to impress me.
"Oppotunity Knocked" is by Nicole Evans and Pat Farrell, It is part of "Uncommon Common Art", a community art project. Visit there website at www.uncommoncommonart.com to discover other locations of additional installations.

She made us very comfy with her wonderful hospitality. We're very lucky to have such nice oppotunities to have a conversation with her.
In addition, she is now the eldest Maiko in Kamishichiken but she has been working hard to look after all guests and to help staff of beer hall and her One-san & Oka-san.
She is very smart so I'm sure she'll be a great Geiko in the future.
Was down at the beach and it started to get dark so I though it would be perfect oppotunity to try some long exposures, although I did use a chair for a tripod.
