Some people arent loyal to you, they are loyal to their need of you. Once their needs change, so does their loyalty...

Capitol Reef National Park is one of the lessor visited parks in Utah but in my opinion still very scenic.
When we stopped at the visitor center, I saw this cool picture of this old barn up on one of the walls. I thought it made a great composition so I had to capture it.
Luckily it's only a mile or 2 down from the visitor center at the Gifford Homestead.
Per the National Park service website... The original home was built in 1908 by polygamist Calvin Pendleton. He and his family occupied it for eight years. The original house had a combined front room/kitchen and two small bedrooms. An outside ladder accessed two upstairs bedrooms. Pendleton also constructed the barn and smokehouse, as well as the rock walls near the house and on the mesa slopes above it.
Wishing all my Flickr friends a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh and more info for the flickr autotagger: The pond might just be called a lake but not a sea
An opinion on how to light the Pinnacles was agreed upon by all in attendance on this magical evening at the Trona Pinnacles.

....and the Journey go´s on.
Even if the picture seems a bit dark,
it contains the message of a continuing journey,
which, in my opinion, is a positive statement.
The picture was taken in bright sunshine :-)

I had another go with it on Lelutka Skyler. I got a new skin, new hair, new face, new shape - ditched everything entirely and started fresh. I'm not sure if I'll keep it, I need to drive it around a little to decide if I like it that much.
One of the reasons I started over is that one of my friends pointed out that I'm grumpy about change. That it could be just me not liking the unfamiliar system as opposed to the new one.
Opinions?
Probably one of the most photographed, most tourist packed and most overrated locations in Norway, in my opinion.
We were leaving Lofoten when I took this picture. It was a brilliant sunset and I hadn't yet been able to take that "classic" Lofoten picture. When I saw this view here I just stopped and took some pictures, because OF COURSE I need to have something. I think it turned out very well.
My thoughts about Lofoten, well, it's not ideal for travelers who want to sleep in tents. Do yourself a favor and go there with an RV or something like that. Be prepared to not find any parking places, especially in Henningsvær for example. Reine was also full of people and we only found a free parking spot after six in the evening. Other people were parking along the main road but I wasn't brave like them. I already got stuck once on this trip.
I have to say I prefer southern Norway with its majestic fjords and valleys to Lofoten, but Lofoten definitely has a unique look and so, so many bridges.

In my opinion the Canadian Rockies throughout Banff and Jasper National Parks are quite possibly the most amazing, stunning and beautiful places I've been lucky enough to visit.
This shot features the Sunwapta River flowing through a glaciated valley about 20 minutes north of the Colombia Icefield, where the river originates.
It also happens to close to the current northernmost point I've travelled. I can't wait for the chance to go back and explore it further.

When I did my last photo I remembered Venxia, a place I have not visited a long time.
Venexia is a dark role-play SIM and in my opinion one of the building highlights in second life.

The sun sets over America's crown jewel of National Parks in my opinion. Captured from Glacier Point high above the valley floor. You can spot Yosemite Falls and the Merced River in the frame.
Glacier Point is about 7,200 feet high above the floor.

:((( p.s. 'borrowed' from a good flickr friend who tells it as it is...
Tremezzo, in my opinion, although it is a small commune with little more than 1300 inhabitants, has a more urban aspect, perhaps by the greater circulation of cars in the edge along the lake.
Very frequented by tourists, it has wonderful hotels, but its main attraction is Vila Carlota, a beautiful palace transformed into a museum, with a grandiose garden, in fact a small Botanical Garden given to the incredible variety of flowers, including several from a climate tropical, like orchids, bromeliads, cacti, succulents. A lovely surprise indeed.
For now some pictures of Tremezzo only;)
Double Arch is a natural sandstone formation in one of the best (in my opinion) parks in all of America, Arches National Park. This particular set of arches were formed differently from most of the arches in the park. It is what is known as a pothole arch, formed by water erosion from above rather the standard erosion for arches, which is normally from the side. The larger opening has a span of 148 feet (45 m) and a height of 104 feet (32 m). These dimensions give the arch the tallest opening and second-longest span in the park. For scale, the lower right of this shot contains a group of people sitting in shadow.
The arches are open for exploration, but you have to be pretty nimble to get up to the top of the “window”. This open permission to climb can make photographers have to wait quite a while to get a clear shot like this one as the area can be crawling with tourists. Normally I avoid crowds by going very early for sunrise or late for sunset, but this tactic doesn’t work with Double Arch as it lies in shadow and mostly along an East-West axis, so the light for sunrise and sunset is not optimum to catch that natural amphitheater effect you see here.
Arches National Park contains the highest density of arches in the world, more than 2000 natural sandstone arches. It also features a variety of unique geological formations such as Balanced Rock, The Three Gossips and The Tower of Babel. It borders the Colorado River on the Colorado Plateau and is 4 miles north of Moab, Utah. It’s truly high desert, receiving an average of less than 10 inches (250 mm) of rain annually. In spite of it’s relatively remote location the park received more than 1.6 million visitors in 2018 and the lines to get in can be long…so get there early!
The shot: Admittedly I have glaring vertical polarization here from the CPL. At the time there was a lot of stray light flooding into my viewfinder and I didn't catch the mistake. A 90 degree turn of the filter could have fixed it. I have since started using a large oval eyecup to prevent light pollution into the viewfinder, and I highly recommend this useful addition to your camera.

We all hold some opinion on Australian White Ibis; Bin Chicken to many, it is also an amazing bird: beautiful when landing against the light, a trooper with tough surviving skills and, as I witnessed from a hide last Sunday, a caring parent. This chick was thoroughly cleaned by its mother, with special attention given to its backside. Pity - just like its human equivalent, it will not remember...

In my opinion, this cut between containers and trees should be photographed without sun. So the slight rain on March 13th was not a problem for taking this photograph.
The opinions of scholars disagree as to the origin of Mission Espada’s irregularly arched doorway design. Is it Moorish? Why do some of the stones seem to be misaligned?
Mission Espada is one of four missions that comprise San Antonio Missions National Historical Park in Texas.

In my opinion, one of the most beautiful photo sites on the Swiss railway network is located on Lake Biel between Tüscherz and Ligerz. Here, the old route is still intact and the trains on the east-west axis run directly on the lake via the single track line.
In addition to the half-hourly local and long-distance services, numerous freight trains also run along Lake Biel. This is also the case on the evening of 26.05.2020 when a tank train pulled by 620 037 from Basel will soon reach its destination in Cornaux.

These two Bald Eagles had their own idea where this stick should be placed in the nest . They each tugged on it for a bit trying to convince the other before one finally gave in.
They have been working hard to make improvements to the nest but I am not in favor of some of their stick placements. These sticks are getting difficult to shoot between to get a good shot.
