It took 7 minutes to download, install, and begin using Google Chromium on my EEEPC 4G Linux (running easypeasy).

As the title could suggests, the main theme here could be Operating Systems (OS), or better, since that the word 'Open' is there, Free Operating Systems as well. Since that I have to visit two colleges in different cities, different labs and computers hardware, I usually have a set of CDs with some OS just to assure that I will have a clean environment to work or just make a Hardware Compatibility Test (HCT) to certify devices. Sometimes I'm driven by esthetical reasons, like testing an OS just because it does have a nice look appeal, a well designed GUI, themes and wallpapers, like those at www.kde-look.org.

The meaning of 'Open Windows' here is other than that. Most buses that I have been in during the week doesn't allow a passenger to open a window, due to the air cooler system. In the average, only one in three are older ones. So, in one of these cosmic coincidences, I have a single minute to make this shot when the bus was slowing the speed to leave the RS-348 and turn into the direction of my destiny city.

As with most of my shots like these, this would not be considered part of my professional portfolio. Hence, no signature. It's more of a "blog-type" photo.

Yes, sometimes I like to photograph products. And, when it's something as highly anticipated as Microsoft's own Windows 7, I'm not gonna hold back. Sure, not everybody is going to whip their camera out as soon as their box arrives, but me, well... I'm a different story.

The direction of this shot was a take on Microsoft's own ad campaign. Anyone heard of Windows 7 Launch parties? Yes, I agree. It sounds strange to hold a house party for the launch of an operating system, but, apparently some people did. The viral videos contain groups of people in a kitchen, huddled around computers, food or island counters. Could I have done more with this shot? Of course. Personally, having actual people gathered around the table would have added to that party-esque feel, but, unfortunately, I was the only one in the house at the time... Ah, well.

Oh go on..now my MPB with a fresh Leopard has stopped showing the time and pretty much anything else that used to live in the menu bar. Before this, the keyboard started working only intermittently (and mysteriously started working again), and it took me a day to get Mail to behave. As cautious as I was, I get the feeling that OSX is the new Windows.

For chrissake..I have to look at the coffee maker to tell what time it is..

Yet another screenshot of my favourite Mac OS version. Mac OS 8.1 is a very nice operating system to work with. Has some nice features that weren't included with System 7.5, my former favourite, like right click menus, ability to set a picture as a desktop background, and the Platinum interface, among others.

Imagine the briefing for the Normandy invasion going something like this:

"Men, this is a bullet. This is a gun. The bullet goes in the gun. You shoot the gun, but point it at the Germans first. If you want me, I'll be in my bed."

That's what this lecture was like. We're seniors in computer science. Most of our friends have either switched to business or dropped out altogether. We're about to do the hardest coding of our lives and the professor (who knows nothing about the projects) is wasting our time explaining what the word 'virtual' means. This won't likely change over the course of the term. Meanwhile, playing chess on one's laptop remains the more entertaining alternative.

Microsoft has responded to developer concerns that its recently released Visual Studio 2010 (left) might not be suitable for Windows Mobile development. "That could not be farther from the truth," says product manager Steve Hegenderfer, adding that a Windows Mobile 6.5 emulator will soon be released.

It worked OK, but the shape felt "wrong" - the ball tended to get dirty too, but that happened with all of the mechanical ones of that era.

Yup. The subway kiosk's custom Windows NT version had crashed.

They could have easily gotten past this screen if they had just had a timeout and a default value.

BACKSTORY: We went to NYC for the first time ever to attend the SubGenius devival thrown by the GFY Clench. Amazingly, bus tickets were only $3 there, and $9 back. I don't really know how to take care of all of the discoloration. I actually got rid of a lot of it after this photo, but the method used wasn't very kind to the plastic - and it didn't work well at all for the keyboard.

We’re not going back to ugly smartwatches.

That’s not to say the Moto 360, the first real Android Wear icon, is perfect – nothing was going to live up to the hyping and hoping of the past six months. But it’s the first smartwatch you’ll want to show off rather ...

Experimenting with a Linux based operating system using the Live CD/DVD system. Tried various distributions (Distros) including Ubuntu, KUbuntu, XUbuntu, Linux Mint, Debian and this one: pclinuxos KDE. I think this is the one I will use on my XP desktop, though not to replace Windows. I'll either end up with a dual boot system or a dedicated HDD for Linux.

The color difference in the keyboard is more obvious in this photo.

If you’re running a business then any labour saving device comes in handy. Any way of saving time leaves you with more time to look for things to do with kids in Los Angeles. Thus, apps are a Godsend for many businesses. But there are so many to choose from, finding the best ones can be a tricky task. So here is a rundown of some of the best business apps available on the market today. More - classesncamps.com/best-business-applications/

But it's just ten years of accumulated grime. Every time I put something in to the tote, the TT, being on the bottom with no protection, ended up as the recipient of any loose dirt.
