20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

Mögen sich Euch viele neue Türen öffnen zu besonderen Ereignissen oder auch zu schönen Begegnungen - das wünsche ich allen Flickr-Freunden für das Jahr 2022! Guten Rutsch!

“No, this is not the beginning of a new chapter in my life; this is the beginning of a new book! That first book is already closed, ended, and tossed into the seas; this new book is newly opened, and has just begun!”

It's fun to watch a "draw bridge" in operation (unless you are in a hurry, and stuck in the auto traffic waiting for the bridge to re-open).

The Charlevoix Bridge, a 1948 bascule bridge, replaced an earlier bridge over the Pine River in downtown Charlevoix, Michigan. The Pine River Canal, dredged in 1870, connected Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix. Boat traffic using the canal first enters Round Lake, a popular Charlevoix harbor, before entering Lake Charlevoix.

The large boat in the picture is the "Beaver Islander", a ferry boat to Beaver Island. The smaller boat, "Heather B" is a towing vessel.

Open your heart and mind like the wings of a butterfly. See then how high you CAN fly.

“Do not waste time dreaming of great faraway opportunities; do the best you can where you are. Open your petals of power and beauty and fling out the fragrance of your life in the place that has been assigned to you.”

Meerdaal Heverlee. There is still open space in Flanders, close to Wallonië. But we should keep it that way, because space is a treasure.

Sundance only experiences outdoor weather through an open (though screened) window. Here he is enjoying fresh summer air from my office chair (which he immediately took over when I went to the kitchen for coffee). Typically there are a couple of windows opened in our house unless it gets very hot or very cold.

No more running with the blindness

Open your eyes, yeah, open your eyes, oh

No more lying with your kindness

Open your mind, yeah, open my mind, oh

The life we're living is in blackness

So turn on the light, turn on the light, oh

It's time to fly into the vastness

Open the sky, yeah, open the sky , oh

Time to go

to the place that we know where we should be...

Dwarf lilac bush getting ready to open its flowers

From one of my rainy days in Arizona recently, looking for wild horses - I couldn't find them so I did wildflowers. Actually, I walked through one of the areas where I had seen the horses and used one of their trails. I decided they were pretty smart the way they went around thorny obstructions, etc. This little stand of poppies and lupine was right there next to their trail. This one cracked me up: sure looks like the poppy is eating the lupine. The combo of their two colors is also a personal favorite.

Open your eye and look within.. Are you satisfied with the life you're living?

My zinnia plant is still in bloom. It attracts a lot of butterflies this time of year. One butterfly has open wings and the other closed. Just two of a dozen or more on the plant at once.
