We finally see the light after a difficult time of worry, my Mom was sent home from the hospital today! Still very tired, no energy, now taking antibiotics & on the mend! Thank you all for your very kind thoughts & prayers, they have made a difference & touched us all =)

Here is a new photo of Bobby enjoying a few precious moments on the back lawn. He had a check-up with the vet today, and I am happy to say that she is pleased with his progress. She said that he is doing great since it has been only 11 days (feels like a month) since hurting himself. He is walking, not gracefully, but it is defintely more of a walk than dragging his hind legs. He is still in pain since his back is still hunched, so I got another (#3) refill of his pain meds/muscle relaxer to make sure that he is as comfortable as he can be, and that is the most important thing.

He is also paying attention to his surroundings, especially when I put him on the lawn, watching the birdies and bugs, but he is not trying to chase them. And yesterday, he was scratching his face with a back paw, a very great sign....obviously the signals are getting from his brain to his feet. Yipee!!

My Roxy came down with Hepatic Lipidosis (fatty liver) at the end of July, stopped eating altogether and was literally half a day away from being let go...

I ramped up my part on that day: I doubled her force feeding intake, continued the vet meds and added the dietary supplement for pets, Milk Thistle. I also continued dishing-up tuna, orange roughly, chicken and spam (her favorites), and found a dry treat she was interested in.

Slowly, her appetite returned, her activity level increased and she started to resume her routine.

A recent vet re-check confirmed her blood test numbers, mainly her liver, had vastly improved to normal ranges or very close to.

I'd say she is 90% of where she came from, and most likely that will be her peak. Roxy also most likely has some liver damage from the Hepatic Lipidosis and how deep she got into it.

I think Roxy burned through 7 of her 9 lives, but that leaves two more!!!

DDC-Chaos

Last week was very chaotic for us. We had to rush Shizandra to the Cornell Animal Hospital because she couldn't walk. She was diagnosed with Lyme Disease but now she is feeling much better. She's playing out in the backyard and enjoying herself as are we.

We saw this little Blue Tit for the first time in our garden yesterday. Debbie actually asked what sort of bird it was as it looked so odd and it was only when we zoomed into him that we could see s/he was definitely a Blue Tit.

S/He came back today and is already looking a little better, but goodness knows what has happened to him. He obviously has an issue with his right foot, but he flys well and s/he's getting plenty to eat, so hopefully is on the mend.

It's funny, I had 3 weeks off and didn't shoot many photos, now I'm back to 7 day work weeks and I'm shooting pics again.

Update on Kali...she has had a rough couple of days, but seems to be on the mend. She is eating and I caught a glimpse of her playing this morning. She is resting alot, and this is a good thing since she is usually a" tornado." She seems to have found a safe haven in my room on my bed. (hiding from the world under her favorite blanket). When I first got her, she tested positive for FIV. They tested her again, and it was negative! Such good news. (for all of us, especially Milo!). I worried for months. My vet said sometimes it's passed from the mother through nursing. By 6 months, the maternal antibodies are gone in many cases.

Norma is having some trouble with her right eye so the dr prescribed some drops that seem to be helping!

Recently in August, I took more sky shots at Golden Ponds and on the same trek, caught this second in the spillway series. Back in July, I parked at Golden Ponds and saw someone walking around the spillway construction area on the first pond and it looked like they made it around the trail. I found the river trail was filled across the bridge over the spillway. Here is that view. This has waited since the 2013 St. Vrain flood but Longmont and Boulder County are self-insured and they need to wait for slack in their general budget to rebuild flood damages. Fortunately, Wall Street didn't get any share at all, unlike their enormous cut into American health care.

My buddy claims high pressure shunted the smoke elsewhere once again. We are continuing early fall with dead clear skies, ongoing record 90s and highs holding Florence in place. It's simply that others got the damage and we got the heat. This week is supposed to be a week of return to nearer (though high) normal. I usually go out wandering when I see that good skies might develop but we've had few of them. This weekend I edited my genealogy work continuously. I edit pix and write descriptions as I can. Here's another. At least the entire loop is open to a walk.

Again, last week, I headed to Golden Ponds and Mac Lake to recheck on the progress of spillway replacement and for good walks. It is finally finished and the walk over the spillway is finally open if not entirely cleaned up. I got outta here a few times each month. I hope to bail more with the final sputterings of summer this year. All the Colorado newbies complain about the downturns with panic warnings. I am panicked about the extensive over-paving and warming of Frogmont.

Angus has had a rough winter. We don’t know what caused it but his immune system kinda turned on him. Thankfully, he has an exceptional vet and he is now on the mend. The medications got everything working properly but he lost a lot of weight and muscle. So, he gets a lot more food and more walks so he’s really not complaining. :)

After 3 grand Mal seizures, numerous injections, a bucket load of medication (Which has had a rather negative effect on him), A Cat Scan...

He's starting to come good, he's still a little distant, not quite the Ollie from 3 days ago, But he's getting there, the meds are having a bit of an effect on his behavior, but we are assured he'll develop a tolerance to it.

After the cat scan, A shadow on his brain was seen, fingers crossed its just a bit of scar tissue.

Epilepsy, i can deal with, but if it is indeed a tumor, we don't know what we'll do, the op is over $4000 AUD.

Keep your fingers crossed for the poor little bugger for me please??

I took Sunny to the game lands this morning. I didn't take Marcy, so that they couldn't chase each other and get rowdy. Sunny had a nice calm sniff and pee walk...

Here's the thing about Kidney's and any shade of pyelonephritis - sooner or later, it hurts. If you leave it a week, like I did, even knowing you have something 'that doesn't feel quite right' it comes back and bites you in the ass. My little bean shaped organ has been extremely naughty this week. Thanks to the brain of Alexander Fleming, I am on the mend. Lovely little anti bios. Come to Mama.

I had two video chats with my doctor over the last week and he asked me to come in today so he could listen to my chest. Of course the doctor had to be in full covid gear, but I was grateful for the opportunity to get checked out. No infection so no need for antibiotics - thank God! Doctor wants me to keep using the inhaler he prescribed yesterday and he thinks I should recover on my own. He said to call him if things rebound and I start to feel sick again. He also wants me to work from home for at least one more week. Rusty will be happy about that.

no cloud stamp (yet) so i improvised by using the tree from critters in the 'burbs and cutting them.

gave the turtle some shine by adding glossy accents to his shell.

made the purple flower from polymer clay. [BTW, is anybody interested in a little blog candy for some of these flowers in misc. colors? LMK in comments here and if there is interest in it, then i will in the very near future!]

Another tedious injury, and yet another out-of-town trip to see Doc Benway. ;) Spent the evening propped up in a hotel (much cheaper than a hospital, & being self-employed, I have no health ins. at the moment), using ice packs and rather strong meds, reading -- no joke-- the 50th anniversary ed. of Naked Lunch, and sleepily (there's a good reason, I suppose, that the principal active ingredient/alkaloid of Papaver somniferum is named after Morpheus ;) perusing your wonderful photo streams. So in a way, my Flickr Rx -- in other words, you -- has helped tremendously, as it always does, actually. Thank you. Prost. 8^)

10 days post surgery to repair his broken collarbone. it's healing beautifully!

his surgeon is actually in haiti right now helping out with the earthquake relief so we saw a co-surgeon. thumbs up and (sort of but not really) cleared for the stationary bike.

So the kids are bouncing back from their high fevers and lethargy. After two days of lounging interrupted only by a doc visit, they wanted to frolic late this afternoon. Tree climbing and show tunes. I think they may be on the mend!

Day 267 of 365 (Tuesday) - The last few days have highlighted to me that the Mummy milk is important, but equally so is being cuddled and held. I am feeling considerably better myself today, so it was lovely to take some shots of my little boy as he fed and slept, but also to see him grinning in my arms seconds after he woke.
