This morning on my way to work! Every morning the view is a pleasure!

See where this picture was taken. [?]

A favorite little village on the way to work. Regulars at the ole swimming hole, I see around 35 goslings every spring.

Have a fabulous Thursday!

The fish are still running ... continuing the flying osprey project - yikes!

Thanks for taking time to visit.

...on my way to work ;-)!

A lot of mist on my way to work today. Just had to make a quick stop and take a couple of shots

Sunrise this morning on my way to work.

I just had to make another stop.....

During editing, I had a bit of fun adding a "page curl" to this shot for my previous post. Here is the same scene edited in normal mode.

My wishes for you to have a great weekend havent changed though. Enjoy :-)

The fog was thick on my way to work, but our Golden Orb was shining through.

Another one of those magical moments.

5 minutes after I took this picture, I discovered that I left my keys from work @home..

I had to return and I 'm afraid I have to pay some fines in a couple of weeks :-(

In this here today, gone tomorrow world we're livin' in, Life goes faster than you think.

Last nights sunset reminded me of just this, One second the sky was alight with fire, barely a few minutes later it was swallowed up by the clouds. Gone in a blink of an eye. So glad I stopped to enjoy it when I did.Even if I had to pull on the shoulder and shoot across 4 lanes of interstate,LOL

Happy Fence Friday!

Another "on my way to work" shot. Despite the promising light, the weather gods gave us sun, rain, sleet and ice water that day.

I spent 30 long boring minutes stuck in traffic this morning on my way to work, which is not very common, but still highly annoying. At least I had a chance to test my iPhone photo applications...you can see few more shots below the fold.

Who would know that just behind me a six lane highway full of commuter traffic rumbled past.

On my way to work I always walk through this park. Friends who follow me will know the scene. This time it's ' the end ' or ' the beginning of new life '

From yesterday's run to work!

Another panoramic view of my 25mile ride..

Within a minute the young ladies rowing the boat had disappeared into the fog towards the other end of the lake...

Hush...

it is nature's holy hour...

Daybreak,

when everything

is just waking up...

is just coming back...

to life.

Hush...

it is that moment...

when the usually unseen

reveals itself

bathing in reverie

filling

the early morn

with quiet peace...

Hush...

Sometimes

the most inspiring

are the everyday ordinary things

and scenes

we see

and take for granted...

( Behind-the-scene: September morn. On the road. I just had to stop and capture this. Removed the 105mm and replaced it with the 18-200mm. I didn't have to get out of the truck. Snap! Snap! It felt deeply exhilarating seeing it unfold through the viewfinder. Morning coming back to life. 7:21 AM read the clock. Took a few more shots. Temple was happy. :P This shot followed... ).

On my way to work for 14.00-02.00 shift. Loving the sunshine, so went the long way round.!

I pass this farm every morning on my way into work. The fog this morning was especially pretty, so I snapped this shot out my car window, sitting in the parking lot of a used golf cart store. It's underexposed and grainy, but I really liked the trees peaking out from the heavy blanket of fog.

The dark wall behind the fog is the side of Massanutten Mountain. The light was coming in behind the fog through a gap in the mountain range - it backlit the tree and the fog, but left the side of the mountain totally in the dark. Made for an interesting vista!

I spotted a promising sunrise as I was driving to work yesterday so just had to stop. I was in a hurry so balanced my camera on a beanbag on the fence.

Flickr Explore is a territory of mystery. It is worst than “You Know Who That Is” in Harry Potter because it is “You Don’t Know What That Is”!

There have been many discussions about Explore. Some said you have to do certain things if you want your picture to be posted on the front page.

You must not add the picture to too many groups. You have to have comments or faves in a certain period of time. You should not have too many tags etc.

The most mysterious thing is that once you have your picture on Explore, it could be dropped later.

I never have my pictures staying on Explore and this is the territory I want to explore!!

Please feel free to share your experience with Flickr Explore!

This is the foggy scene taken with my compact S1600 when I was on my way to work last month.

Happy Thursday!

PS. One thing many people would agree that the pictures on Explore are selection based on "Interestingness" and they are not necessarily good pictures.

Another view on my way to work. The sun is rising behind me and painting the distant sky with her colours. The mist is slowly fading away. Mind you, the colours have been given a boost with Topaz Adjust. In other words, there is a drop of artistic freedom here.

on my way to work, morning light.
