This valentine was inspired by a gorgeous card that Julie Ebersole created for Online Card Classes Clean & Simple 4. (I didn't have gesso so I clear embossed the images and then ironed off the embossing powder.) Thanks for looking.

I loved the fun technique and card shared today by Kristina Werner in online card class!

Blogged here.

Thanks for looking! :)

What color is your swim suit? I had such fun making this card and humming away to myself '... and she wore an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot ...!' Bet you're singing that now too 😂 This card is part of a fun hop on my blog to celebrate @kathyrac #thedailymarker30day with a great giveaway from @onlinecardclasses 😃 👍

Supplies: Stamps: Hero Arts newspaper background, Clearly Besotted Stamps twinkle toes; Inks – Versamark, Hero Arts wet cement; Card – Bazzill card shoppe rainbow pack, Hero Arts charcoal layering paper; Dies – Simon Says Stamp talk bubbles 2, My Favorite Things skyline border; Enamel dots – My Mind’s Eye the sweetest thing honey love; Embossing Powder – Hero Arts white

I made this card for the Pattern Play card class at www.onlinecardclasses.com/

Although my card design and supplies are different, I was inspired by one of Jennifer McGuire's techniques. After selecting three patterned papers, I white washed each sheet with white, semi-opaque acrylic paint (slightly thinned with water). After the paint dried, I ironed my painted papers to get them flat and smooth. (I've included a photo of my papers before and after the white wash here: www.flickr.com/photos/82712255@N04/8577863543/in/photostr...) Thanks for looking.

Supplies: Hero Arts Frame Cuts (Large Tag and Layered Hearts), Hero Arts Small Tulip Etching (F1936), Hero Arts Just Find Me (CL434), Hero Arts Classic Messages (CL414), Hero Arts Soft Granite Shadow Ink, Studio Calico Wonderland patterned papers pad, Delta Semi-Opaque White acrylic paint, and Simon Says Stamp Sm Folded Banners die (S137).

This is one of the cards I created trying to use some of the techniques from the Watercolor for Card Makers: Intermediate Techniques onlinecardclasses.com/WC-IT/ For this I was using the take away technique.

I have always wanted to make this card since I saw Kristina Werner’s demonstration in Clean & Simple Card Making Online Class (www.onlinecardclasses.com/cleansimple/classinfo/).

I finally made it! Yeah! I was also so delighted to play with my new toys, e.g. new Hero Arts stamp and new Sizzix embossing folder.

I am also entering this card into the Patterned Paper Challenge hosted by Simon Says Stamp at Lily Pad Card (www.lilypad.inlinkz.com/2012/01/27/simon-says-stamp-prese...)! The patterned paper is from Bo Bunny.

My second card for Background Check from Online Card Classes. I love the beautiful plaid pattern I learned to make! Too bad I had to mask all of it...ordered some line stamps to make it easier next time!

Day 1 @onlinecardclasses @laurafadora Ink Blending w/distress inks and starting from the center. This was tricky, but I will enjoy with more practice. #onlinecardclasses #backgroundcheck #distressinks Milled lavender, dried marigold & tumbled glass #creationsforkindness #occbackgroundcheck

traciepond: @michii00 yes, it is tricky. Like markers or watercolors, practice practice. I think it is just getting the feel for the tool and how the different inks will adhere to the cardstock/paper. Also pressure. I have a difficult time because I have such a tight grip. So this is kind of like therapy for me.

paper_pajamas: Very lovely 😍

littlesavedgirl: I'm starting out blending now with distress inks and it is tricky 😉

traciepond: Thank you for your kindness @paper_pajamas 😘

traciepond: @littlesavedgirl yes, it is tricky. I really enjoyed the technique using pigment inks.

jolie_samuel: Love the results!

inkapaper: This is lovely! I have been doing lots of blending past weeks and so happy to see so many crafters doing as well. Always end up with ink on all fingers. 😁

lisatilson: @traciepond yes it is definitely tricky but well done! Laura is a master at blending she makes it look very easy! I think it definitely makes a difference what paper you use. I am going to try it again with a smoother paper.

I used a set of simon says stamp : www.simonsaysstamp.com/product.aspx?id=135552

When I saw the picture of Tuesday Trigger of Moxie Fab World (www.moxiefabworld.com/2012/09/tuesday-trigger-envy-become... ), this card immediately came into my mind! I am quite happy to dig out this elegant background stamp of Hero Arts that I have owned for a long time but have never used it!

The butterfly Faux Chipboard was inspired by Jennifer McGuire’s card demonstration on Day 1 of Kick Start Online Card Classes (www.onlinecardclasses.com/kickstart/ ). The butterfly was colored by Copic Markers.

I will also enter this card to the following challenges:

1. Moxie Fab World ~ The Focal Point Challenge (www.moxiefabworld.com/2012/08/card-design-handbook-week-f...)

2. Hero Arts September Challenge ~ Fall Feast, Thanksgiving

PTI Happiness In Bloom Stamp Set

AF124 Hero Arts SHADOW Ink Pad SOFT STONE Teal

Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment!

At this time of the year I am really looking forward to orange pumpkins and everything orange...

I used rusty hinge & wild honey distress inks for the resist embossing on this card.

I think I must have been inspired by Jennifer's (McGuire) inspiration showcase intro

(http://www.onlinecardclasses.com/inspirationshowcase/classinfo/ ) - with that heart - but I thought it was really fitting with the sentiment ;)

Stamps: HA Find Joy CL497, Starburst Pattern CG315

Paper: Bazzill

Other: HA embossing powder, MS heart punch, Bo Bunny button, foam adhesive, twine.

This is a watercolor card I did using a traced sketch of the Altenew "Sketchy Rose" AN115. The sentiment is heat embossed on vellum. Hero Arts "Hello Sunshine" CL776.

I am taking the Clear & Sheer Online Card Class and will adding this to the Day 1 gallery. www.onlinecardclasses.com/

Trying the use of brushstroke alone to create the image. Watercolor for Card Makers: Intermediate Techniques onlinecardclasses.com/WC-IT/

A card made for the Clean & Simple Class

The background was stamped with Aqua Colorbox pigment ink on HA Pool paper and clear embossed.

For the hearts I swiped Versamark onto white paper and embossed with Antique Verdigris embossing powder (it's a green powder with flecks of gold and black), then punched out the hearts.

We were to use a sketch from Kristina Werner. Here is my take.

Using an example from Shari Carroll for a watercolor effect plus one of the three sketches for this week. Love the effect of the water color.

CASE card from Jennifer McGuire using Kraft cardstock, white pigment ink, brown ink for a tone on tone background plus using this weeks color combo besides.

My first card from Holiday Style OCC! I took inspiration from Laurie Willsion's 'Crisp Texture' technique. I used Tim Holtz Cracked Pistachio distress ink to colour the background. I then stamped a Hero Arts Merry Christmas stamp in Versafine ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. For the background I embossed both lines and dotted lines using my scoring board. I finished it up with some mittens from the Simon Says Stamp 'Big Holiday Wishes' stamp set which I stamped in SSS Lipstick Red and Versafine inks.

I cased Laurie Willison's card.
