The title borrows from the same titled romantic era 1873 painting of a segment of the Fontainebleau forest, Paris, by Narcisse Virgilio Díaz.
Pioneers of the Romantic or Naturalist movement in landscape painting, like Diaz, were often found located in the Barbizon School. The school was a loose association of artists who worked around the village of Barbizon near the Forest of Fontainebleau.
Members came from different backgrounds and worked in a range of styles. They were drawn together by their passion for painting outside and their desire to elevate landscape painting, from a mere background to mythological or classical scenes, to a subject in its own right.
The rugged countryside and ancient trees of the forest held a powerful attraction and inspired several generations of artists including Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, Theodore Rousseau, and Jean-François Mille, Renoir and Manet.
In turn, they inspire nature and landscape painters and photographers to this day.

Oceanart, Natureart and Photoart come to mind as possible descriptors of these beautiful wave crests almost arranged in a neat inward parallel moving row, although clearly a windy day.
Were they synced through the ocean currents and winds? Is the ocean really alive as an "Ocean of Thoughts"?
Spotted from my abode on Nth Stradbroke Island (east coast Australia), which led me enthusiastically strolling (maybe even running) down to a nearby headland with camera in hand :-)

In the heart of Northern Europe, I've been discovering the wonders of the world, one frame at a time. For nearly eight years, my Nikon camera has been my loyal companion. We've shared countless sunrises and sunsets, braved storms, and celebrated the quiet peace of a snowfall. This camera isn't just a piece of equipment to me; it's an extension of myself, a tangible piece of my soul that lets me capture the world as I see it.

💬 Fremantle and Rottnest Island, off Fremantle (Perth), Western Australia, have glorious sunsets, some of the best in Australia as they are in the West!
That said a fast ocean ferry takes one over, where you can hire a bicycle to peddle around the island, or hop on and off a bus that goes around to the main scenic spots: mainly snorkelling and white sand beach places as well as lookouts (at West End the lookout looks over a seal colony).
No vehicles are allowed (except for the maintenance crews), as Rottnest is a protected nature reserve, also home to the unique and friendly quokka (like a small wallaby).
Then there is Strickland Bay known for its surf breaks. It's considered a fun wave, especially when it gets big ... For the experienced there is Chicken Reef: an exposed, left hand reef break. It produces the best waves with an offshore north northeast wind and swells from the south southwest. I have surfed at both, the latter is really only for the experienced ... awesome!!
Also plenty of reefs to explore while swimming and snorkelling.
All in all pretty much a dream nature place to visit with some accommodation there to, as well as a museum recording the interesting but sad history of the island in the colonial days as a penal colony for Aboriginal people.
Nth Stradbroke Island, east coast Australia. The waves were choppy, rough, and fast to break.
After some challenging storm surfing, I came in and took a few shots of the wild ocean surf... you can see a surfer friend (our local woman's champ) at the bottom left catching a wave.... awesome fun, workout and being one-with-nature!
Nth Stradbroke Island, east coast Australia. The waves were choppy, rough, and fast to break. After some challenging storm surfing, I came in and took a few shots of the wild ocean surf... you can see another surfer friend of mine (a guy this time... see first shot before) at the bottom left takeoff point, riding a wave, a bit cautiously as this was one was so choppy and the wild surf is starting to flatten out a bit .... awesome fun, workout and being one-with-nature!

In the previous shot of this mini-series, the turbo-jet tour boat, for the east coast of Tasmania (Australia) eco-tour, was about to enter a cave system... inside it surged up a rock channel loop, which soon saw it come out at another entry or exit point. It was very exciting...
... zooming further down the coast we entered this really big cave, which needed torches to see inside it was so dark! ... I got this shot without flash or fast speed, with a 18mm focal length, as we were about to exit, in showing awesome rock formation patterns, textures and gradations .... while also listening to the water surging back and forth, water drops from the ceiling, and sea bird calls from on high and outside ...

Rainbow Bay at the southern end of the Gold Coast (Queensland, Australia) as depicted as a 'heavenly place for surfers (and others) to hang out, as this sunset, sky, and cloudscape highlight.
For surfers -- including myself, as I often travel there from my home surf base at North Stradbroke Island for variety -- surfing is natural, beautiful, exciting, harmonious, and fun, and often, 'heavenly'.

This shot of Loch Lamond in Autumn begins another mini-series called "On the Road to Inverness", Scottish Highlands.
As interspersed with other more recent shots of local and overseas landscapes, it carries on from the recent "Raven's Rock Gorge in Autumn" mini-series shot in 2017 on a holiday trip to Scotland,
The mini-series celebrates enjoying a great holiday traveling up the west coast of Scotland. Although my photo notes got wet in a downpour I'm pretty sure this is a vista of the long Loch Lamond that well features on the West Highland Way. Apologies if it is not.

34:52 A Place I Love
I love the Oregon coast, and I also love being in the forest, so here, I was in the forest on the Oregon coast. I find that being in a forest, I immediately feel a sense of calm and oneness with nature, and am in awe of everything around me. When I try to capture that on camera, it's never what I experienced, so have a hard time working with any of my forest images. The magic happens when I'm there, but it doesn't seem to look the same on the screen. Oh well....
I wasn't able to be online much the past couple of days, so most likely, you only received faves from me. I'll try to remedy that today. Have a lovely Monday!
Zoom in and take a look around :)
