The first of a series of one-line drawings where the pen is kept on the paper from start to finish. This has several effects: it makes your lines bolder, it forces you to look even more closely at the subject and it limits the time available because of concentration span ...
I couldn't help noticing his shaking hands ... and then saw the title of the book he was reading ... I looked it up later and it is a biography of the man who first described Parkinson's disease ...
(NB I find the fact that I spelt "elderly" wrongly very interesting ... As a former English teacher, my spelling is pretty consistent ... More evidence of different areas of the brain involved in spelling v drawing ... ???)

I seem be attracting confusing relationship energy to myself lately. Emails from ex-lovers, good friends confusing friendship and interest, my own crushes getting too mixed up in my friendships to tell.
I'm too tired fighting the database at work to really care. Another late night working teaching a class on traffic safety, not feeling very on top of my ability as a presenter. What's a girl to do? Go to karaoke, of course!
Marc & I went to karaoke and sang songs to vent about our crappy days at work, including singing 9 to 5, of course. The place was so dead that by midnight we were the only two people so we got to sing all the songs we wanted.
It was snowing a wet snow as I biked home, totally baffled by the romantic karaoke songs I had been soaking in.

I visited a workshop in Hamburg with Felix Scheinberger , great illustrator who wrote and drew a very charming book about sketchbooks.
