Pride of Baltimore II is a replica of an 1812-era Baltimore Clipper. She sails with the mission of promoting the historical education of Baltimore Clippers, naval innovation, the War of 1812, composition of the "Star Spangled Banner"; providing a learning atmosphere in the areas of math, science and social studies through various onboard programs; serving as a visual representative of American history and a symbol of entrepreneurship in the state of Maryland. The crew is made up of twelve members and up to six paying guest crew members or trainees who sail throughout international waters.

Haven't been able to get out much due to Hal being in the hospital, but today was just too nice to miss the chance to take Sheba to the off-leash area for a while. Our wild roses are almost past blooming, but this one was in the shade, so still hanging on. Here at Edmonton's altitude (2,200 feet/671 metres), these rosebushes are about two to three feet in height. At higher altitudes, I've seen them as short as five or six inches! But they are extremely hardy and grow freely along roadsides in the area, blooming in the first half of June.
I edited this initially in PS CS4, but it still looked too blue (shot late in the evening in open shade) once I uploaded it, so I turned it into a 'daytime' exposure using piknik. It didn't do too bad a job at all, I must say! I was just too lazy to go into PS again, and I'm glad I gave flickr's onboard program a try for this quick fix. Wouldn't use it as a forever job, but for this, it did well.
AMPED Cohort IV classmates toured Crane Army Ammunition Activity in Crane, Indiana, in March 2016. The 24 new employees spent two days touring JMC production lines at the government-owned and -operated facility, and visiting the co-located Naval Support Activity Crane, accomplishing two of the onboarding program’s key goals: learning what JMC as a whole does and learning the basics of ammunition. The “Woodfield Welcome” for Professional Staff: The Woodfield Welcome is an onboarding program developed for newly hired professional staff that provides them with the resources they need to be productive and effective in their new roles. It was created to fill communication gaps often seen in clubs with hundreds of employees across acres of property. The entire staff is responsible for creating the member experience and understanding each other’s roles and connectivity is the key to this success. The program is composed of two parts: the Woodfield Welcome Binder and Introductory Department Meetings.
