Citroen 2CV at the Dale in Wirksworth...iconic motor beloved of our French brethren. Holds the road like a greasy pig on roller skates and takes off like a cat with a lit firecracker up it's jacksie. Well only half of that sentence is true :D
...is it summer yet? It's not even the solstice and I'm beginning to pine for sunlight. Shot on Carabassi beach, Los Arenales, Spain.
This robin has been a regular visitor to my garden for some yummy fresh mealworms for him and his family. He would come back and forth 10 to 15 times filling his beak until he had filled the hungry mouths of mum and babies. Sadly I only saw one juvenile actually fledge but the weather during that time was atrocious. Now I only see him occasionally but he still stops by on his special piece of branch for a tasty morsel.
It's that time of year when I get carried away with the birds and the bees, the hard drive is filling up fast!
Meet Wren, my nephew’s spaniel puppy. I’m in awe of professional pet photographers when I try taking pictures of puppies whilst doing their zoomies!
I couldn't resist another trip to the British Wildlife Centre for an owl photo day and to try out my new lens. The stabilisation on this combo is crazy and I was getting tack sharp images at 1/30th at 700mm, unbelievable right!
The weather forecast was rather daunting for the day but luckily we didn't have a drop of rain and the sun gave a dappled show of light in the bluebell woods. So so many more images to come, hope you guys like owls!!!!
…second user with low shutter count which arrived yesterday.
As soon as I gave my original Pen F away, I regretted it. I still think the mono profile 2 results surpass the EM1 mk3 plus it’s a stunning retro design.
Looks like this tawny is relaxing and taking in the heady scent of the bluebells ;o)
Taken on my recent owl photo day at the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey.
From Castle Crag with love. Last stop of the day on top of Castle Crag. The iconic view from this the smallest Wainwright is opver looking Derwent Water, however the sun was pretty low and the light was flat. I was going to wait until sunset but I felt it was not going to get much better and had also left the head torch in the car! Anyway I dropped down to the next ledge and picked this composition looking back towards Glaramara and waited for the setting sun to light up those mountains.
I decided to post this tree again but this one is zoomed in with a 1:1 crop marking the rowan tree the star and not the backdrop view.
The sun was already starting to soften and go down at 3pm giving this warm backdrop to the female bullfinch!
Testing new M.ZUIKO 8mm f/1.8 FISHEYE with OLYMPUS OM-D E-M5 MARK II
This little owl had a very disconcerting stare, definitely glad I"m not a vole!
Taken on a photography day at the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey.
I can't tell you how many times I've been to the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey and not seen sight nor sound of the water voles. But this little guy gave me at least 10 minutes of play before disappearing for the rest of the day!
It's such a short season for bluebells but this week of rain has probably meant I've little chance of getting back to the woods before it's too late, so here's one from last week!
Had a recent trip out to Precipise walk near Dolgellau. Not much happening in the sky but the lake had a lovely frost and the water was beautiful like glass.
Still slowly working my way through a hard drive full of images from my recent trip to snowy Sweden!
One more from my British Wildlife Centre series organised by Olympus UK.
The Scottish Wildcat cannot be tamed even if hand reared, and I find its fierce independence so compelling.
