As a Frenchman I am really excited about Paris hosting the 2024 Olympic Games.
Even though a bit awkward at first sight as this is located in the centre of Paris the very colorful scene makes the city look happier at the moment. It does feel like Paris plage, another place where we can relax in the summertime sun. ☀️
Aujourd'hui c'est dimanche, et comme chaque dimanche, c'est jours de détente pour des millions de travailleurs.
Et quelle plus attendue détente que les JO 2024 de Paris ?!
Que ce soit pour la beauté du sport ou la douceur du son des casseroles, nous serons probablement nombreux à attendre des nouvelles des JO à venir. :-))
I got told off for saying I wasn't going to show any more photos while this global horror is going on. Thought I'd try to find some oldies with a bit of a message. With Tokyo 2020 postponed I've dug this one up again from my seat at London 2012. I happened to be right next to the Olympic flame and could feel the heat. The title hopefully speaks for itself.
Vista Chinesa is a privileged place with a dazzling vista of Rio de Janeiro. We have that settled.
In terms of landscape photography, Vista Chinesa is better chosen for sunrise sessions, as it faces East. However, it's so impressive that it offers a lovely result even at sunset and moon rise.

My friend recently gifted me with the brown postage stamp box, commemorating the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, in which I participated.
Took this walking out of the stadium after watching the 100m heats. They had just started the 10,000 heat and I wasn't staying around all night (no disrespect to distance runners but I had to get to bed)...
I'm looking forward to getting back on my computer at home to see how my hdrs come out...

In 776 BC ancient Olympia, Greece, became the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Today the evocative ruins and a splendid museum can be visited at the site.
The South Korean speed skater Cha Min-kyu at the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang. He won the silver medal in speed skating 500 metres after the Norwegian Håvard Holmefjord Lorentzen. The bronze medal went to the Chinese Gao Tingyu. Tragic detail: he equalized the olympic record of 34,42 seconds, but the subsequent winner was 1/100 seconds faster.
The competition took place in the Gangneung Oval.
