On the left is the genuine made in USA Olloclip lens from olloclip.com & select applestores worldwide; on the right is a bootleg made in china "OLLCOLLP" lens that costs 1/3 of the genuine lens.
I took these photos & tests to make aware the differences between a genuine & bootleg copy (fake) in terms of build quality, image quality etc etc.
Compared to the bootleg lens, the Olloclip delivers a sharper image, this is more noticeable on the edges of the image.
Under the right lighting conditions, you can see the reflection of the lens coatings on the lenses.
Olloclip has a good lens coating that reduces flare & improves the image. Not to mention, the glass & optics are of much better quality.
Note the can near the bottom right of the image & the PVC tubing along the wall.
Detail & sharpness along the edges are very poor on the bootleg Ollcollp lens
The top of the bootleg lens can be un-fastened & the primary lens elements can be exposed. This is a dead give-away for the bootleg lens as the real Olloclip cannot be dis-assembled this way.
On the left is the genuine lens.
Note Olloclip only make black & Red lenses.
Note the different spellings of Olloclip & Ollcollp on the lenses.
