Heiligendamm ist ein Stadtteil von Bad Doberan an der Ostseeküste Mecklenburg-Vorpommerns in der Mecklenburger Bucht. Heiligendamm ist der älteste Seebadeort Deutschlands und wird aufgrund der von der See aus sichtbaren weißen Häuserreihe in Strandnähe auch die „Weiße Stadt am Meer“ genannt. 2004 wurde Heiligendamm vorläufig als Seeheilbad anerkannt. Durch den G8-Gipfel in Heiligendamm im Juni 2007 erlangte der Ort internationale Bekanntheit. (Wikipedia)

Not the sharpest photo I've ever posted, but I love a good coincidence so. A little story:
A few weeks ago, one of my best friends, Marcus, came to visit for the weekend along with his boyfriend, John. On Sunday morning I had to leave unexpectedly, so I
left my guests at my place and said "make yourselves at home".
Well, I returned two days later, opened the door and found my entire living room rearranged! (For the better -- trust me!) It was such a shock that I just stood there for minutes, staring!
Since that time I haven't seen my place in the morning light (it's that time of year where it's dark when I leave for work and dark when I get home). Yesterday (saturday) I walked into the room and found this shadow on the wall and it stopped
me in my tracks! The Big shadow is made by a wire replica that I
used to have in my kitchen...the little shadow is made from a pair of bookends that Marcus had given me for Christmas this year. My friends put them here when they rearranged the place (unaware of the shadow).
What really makes it special for me, though, is that hanging on the wall behind me (across from the shadow) is a framed print
of this photo.

Just a coincidence, I know...but don't you like when things come together unexpectedly sometimes? When the universe *winks* at you, as they say?
It also reminds me that a sudden rearrangement can reveal unexpected
gifts (even if you have to wait for the right light to see it).

Potrebbe essere la frase che racchiude l’essenza dello shooting fotografico. Una ragazza come tante altre che cerca di raggiungere
il proprio limite, abbandonandosi ad una vita che agli occhi di tutti può sembrare folle: un vagare quasi ultraterreno come uno spirito
errante in un luogo quasi burtoniano, per poi arrivare alla sua stabilità interiore. Potrebbe sembrare incongruo, ma ad un attento occhio
chiunque capirebbe che questo è una sorta di rituale interiore che tutti prima o poi percorrono. La “follia”, se cosi vogliamo definirla,
diventa paradigmatica (esemplare) per la protagonista e per uno shooting che vuole essere una sorta di elogio postmoderno della ricerca
di se stessi, una sorta di viaggio dantesco nei meandri dell’anima. Una forma di “pazzia” che porta le persone a seguire terreni inesplorati,
andando fisicamente e metaforicamente laddove nessuno è mai stato prima.
L'avventura di una ragazza, non più bambina, una sorta di Alice burtoniana che vorrebbe avere il senso di recupero della propria indole
più autentica, quella di sognatrice un po' eccentrica, fedele alla propria infanzia. Una ragazza che capitombola in un mondo irreale, ma
dove tutto è possibile, dove si è padroni totali del proprio io. Il "paese delle meraviglie" in cui c’è il confronto continuo tra la fantasia e il
mondo reale, in un processo di maturazione verso l'età adulta, in cui fantasia e realtà si divertono a conoscersi e familiarizzare interagendo
di continuo e reciprocamente. Un’Alice che, abbandonando la fanciullezza è quasi come una donna, tira fendenti ai “mostri” della società
moderna che opprimono ogni giovane: indossare determinati abiti, frequentare determinati amici, avere idee conformi ad altri. Tante
imposizioni che sovrastano e opprimono la propria personalità e il proprio modo di essere. Ma come nello shooting anche nella vita reale
valori come l’amicizia e l’amore sono spiragli, ancore e punti fermi per ognuno di noi, grazie a questi valori chiunque trova la propria
stabilità. Alice che, credendo ai suoi sogni salva la sua favola, migliora la sua vita anche con l’aiuto delle amiche e dell’amore del suo amato
che, accompagnandola attraverso il suo viaggio interiore, affronta anche lui il suo rito d’ iniziazione interiore. L'iniziazione è di vitale
importanza per l’equilibrio sociale, in essa si incontrano elementi come la simbologia della morte e della rinascita mistica in funzione di
uno status dentro la società. Inoltre è un'importante istituzione socio-culturale in cui un ragazzo e una ragazza, man mano che si avvicinano
all'età adulta, partecipano sempre più responsabilmente ai diritti ed ai compiti delle persone adulte. Lo shotting in versione favolistica dai
toni dark mostra la fase essenziale che ognuno di noi attraversa sicuramente nella vita, per poi, attraverso la propria catarsi, arrivare,
come scrive Aristotele nell’opera la “Poetica”, alla concezione che esiste tra due estremi opposti una virtù di mezzo, la quale sicuramente
ci darà la possibilità di iniziare con serenità la straordinaria avventura della vita

As I worked editing pictures in my studio Friday I looked up and notices how nice the flowers looked with some nice North light coming through the window. I love these old windows too.
