The historical Imperial Pub is a true Toronto landmark that has been pouring draught for 64 years and counting. It is also a truly a family business. Jack Newman founded the Imperial Pub in 1944.
I originally came across this old lantern, table, and other stuff in a remote wash in the Sheephole Valley Wilderness about 1.5 years ago. I decided to hike back a couple weeks ago to check things out, half expecting the old lantern to be gone. Not only was the lantern still there, but things were exactly as I had left them! No sign of footprints, and I doubt another human being has been here since my last visit. I would love to know the story here... old miner's camp, perhaps? Another desert mystery that will likely never be solved!

She was awoken by the sound of flapping wings, a babies muffled cry, and the strangest feeling that she was being watched.
(This was an extra shot I did for a maternity shoot. I had this idea in my head, and she was a very good sport to hold this old lantern for several shots...Thought it would be fun to try a couple of themes)
Do you recognize a couple of faces here inspired by Gibson Art Co? My wife surprised me with this tiny German made lantern. We were told that it is pre WW ll. It was found in one of the former Iron Curtain countries. The story we got was that it was left there by the Nazis when they pulled out, but who knows? It was really meant to be used. It has a built in wind guard around the top. It is quite impressive for a lantern that is only 6 inches tall not counting the handle! As you can see, it burns well.
