Another Boat left on the Banana River to just sit and rot. The owner I guess is just waiting for someone else to come and clean up his or her mess.
It occurred to me I've never made a public posting honoring my favorite seasoning.
I now consider my life complete.

I'm back on Flickr and couldn't be more excited! I'm excited to join a new community dedicated to the rapidly changing digital media canvas.
Baked salmon in butter, lime juice and old bay seasoning, served over rice with caramelized onions and garden peppers.
The traditional Maryland blue crab spice has an unmistakable flavor and aroma. With the celery seed tang and cayenne pepper spice, it brings back memories of the summers along the Mid-Atlantic coast and the Chesapeake Bay. This photograph captures the individual elements of the spice concoction, coming together in the middle of the star. From the top clockwise: black pepper, red pepper, cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, celery seed, cloves, salt.
I am the best in ALL the land!
When it comes to manufacturing Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, nobody on this planet can do it as well as me.
That might sound like a bold, braggart statement, but it's not. It's simply the truth.
I've had others make this delicacy for me at various times in my life. Nobody, and I mean nobody can achieve the taste sensation I create time after time after time.
Those who have followed my photostream over the past couple years are very much aware of my limited cooking abilities and the problems I experience when simply peering into an open refrigerator.
Those problems magically vanish when I set my mind to cookin' up a delicious pot of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.
And don't forget to sprinkle a hefty dose of Old Bay over the finished product!
So, if you're at a cocktail party some evening and the subject of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese comes up in conversation, don't be afraid to tell those people that you personally know the person who makes the best Kraft Macaroni & Cheese in the entire world. His name is:
Bill Adams
Maryland "Crab Cake," my way! This cake was made for a wedding shower for a couple getting married on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Naturally, I had to make a mini edible tin of Old Bay, tiny crab mallets, and sugar dough crab bride and groom to help the couple celebrate their upcoming nuptials! The sweet crustaceans (even the old bay is my own secret recipe) sit on small sheets of edible newspaper announcing their upcoming wedding. Lemon cake with vanilla buttercream and raspberry jam filling.
So...Thanks to the CBMM this image posted yesterday on my Facebook business page has been shared almost 60 times. Thanks to our watermen for harvesting this deliciousness!

A variety of spice tins from the kitchen cabinet. There's something I like about the look of the old-style tins.

Sunday ... Football ... Grilling ... Old Bay ... Ravens ... Baltimore.
While out looking for some birds to capture with the lens, this can of Old Bay seasoning with the Ravens team on it caught my eye as it sat there next to the open grill.
My daughter wanted to have a shrimp boil for her birthday...so we did! Shrimp, polish sausage, corn on the cobb, potatoes, carrots, onion, lemons, and some Old Bay seasoning...boil it up, dump it on the table, and invite everyone to dig in. First time preparing this and I think it was a huge hit...

I love being from an area that has a culture and food that are indicitive of that culture. For Marylanders it's the Chesapeake Bay Blue Crabs, steamed and covered in Old Bay seasoning.
So good.

This is Evonne on a stroll in a park last fall. At some point last year, we ordered a pair of masks from Route One Apparel, who carry a whole line of Maryland-themed items. I got a Maryland flag one and she got this Old Bay seasoning one. (My main masks are a Chicago flag and a Maryland flag. Maybe I should buy a California flag one just to complete the theme.)
I realize that non-Marylanders may not even know what Old Bay Seasoning is. It's the only acceptable seasoning for Maryland blue crabs. It's also really good on potato chips. Utz briefly supplied their "Crab Chips" to the Chicago market a few years ago and I was in heaven. But I doubt that Chicagoans understood that "Crab Chips" contain no crab, and are just seasoned with the seasoning that Marylanders put on crabs. (Oddly, Utz is, I think, the best brand of crab chip despite the fact that they use imitation crab seasoning instead of real Old Bay.)
This is from a test roll I took with a Nikon N8008 that I acquired last summer before we left Chicago. My aunt's sister mentioned that she had an old camera that was lightly used and no longer wanted. I think she was hoping it was worth something but unfortunately these 90s plastic Nikons are just not very valuable. I used to shoot with an N6006 until the film door latch broke, so I was excited at being able to replace it. The N8008 is a higher end model but also slightly older. So it has some fancier features that the N6006 lacked, like a multiple exposure mode. But some aspects are more primitive, like the lack of a spot meter. (I was about to write that the matrix meter isn't as good, but now I can't remember why I think that. Anyway, the N6006 had a really good meter.) I had to clean the gunk out of the battery compartment to make it work, but it seems to be mostly good now. The one thing wrong with it is the LCD inside the viewfinder is smashed, so you can't see the exposure settings while shooting. Not so terrible but not good for manual mode.

From the top down: a fried chicken slider, pepperoni, cheese, bacon, house-made pickles, green onions, red pepper, and celery, all presented in a Mason jar containing green beans and cocktail onions and filled with a house-made Bloody Mary mix.
Oh, and the jar is rimmed with Old Bay seasoning, a staple of the Maryland diet.
